Haven't popped in this thread in a while, but I'll chime in. Its now been about 6 months since I've installed my Powertrain Industries CF shaft and still no issues. I was just under the car this past weekend changing out exhaust gaskets and everything is still spot on with the shaft. I've also done a track day since installing the shaft without any problems.

Found out GTM is sourcing theirs from Inland Empire Driveshaft here in Socal. Never heard of them before but their aluminum shafts run for around $500. I'll put it to the test when I eventually get the car back.

Looks like them. I won't be able to give a review for about another month though.

Sorry all Ive been moving and working 120/hr a week! yes per week!

so basically I am running 6psi less boost and make 12hp less than the steel DS set up.

Car is pretty much identical. I do have long tubes on now vs strup and test pipes but I cant see that being too much diff. It does provide a 1psi drop in boost from what i have been told.

car made 545.4/445 at 19psi w the CF DS vs the 557/460 at 25psi with the stock DS

I will try to get a straight same day comparison. I want to know for myself. but bare with me my life is a trip, this is the first time i logged in, in a minute besides replies to PMs on my phone.

What is the critical speed and rpm of the AL shaft. Here is a chart I found on critical speeds.

http://www.pstds.com/driveshaft_crit...peed_chart.htm

Probably a speed most will never reach, but the RPM some can reach if it's in the mid-upper 7k range depending on how long the shaft is. The 5at shaft is a little shorter than the 6mt.

I've taken mine to 130mph, 7300rpm and over 50 dyno and track runs no issues so far.

another reason CF is FTMFW! LOL im spinning 7500rpms currently

I am 7,500 with an aluminum one, mine is custom built and beefed up a lot...I am not sure if the mass produced ones just run OEM yokes and joints? I haven't had any issues at all with mine. I have never measured the OD but I think it's 4.5".

yeah thats a great question man. My yokes "appear" to be beefed up on the CF too. I wonder if we can find out about the mass produced aluminum ones? ANYONE?@!?@??@.

Although most aren't running such high RPMs, the few that are, this could be a big a deal if vibration is present.
