thanks, the dealer said it did not come up so i guess i will take it in just to make sure and so it is in there database in case something happens.

 

Correct me if I am wrong, but MT's do not use transmission fluid, they use motor oil. I just wanted to make sure people don't waste their money.

 

That is incorrect, motor oil is not used.

I checked it out. 75w85 HQ "manual transmission fluid" aka motor oil.

 

are you sure you're not talking about gear oil? Motor oil has much lower viscosities (10w40, 5w30, etc.). Again, I would not put motor oil in my transmission.

 

Not necessarily true. You can usually find motor oil in very heavy weights and viscosities. For example, in my 93 and 97 honda accords (I supercharged both of them) the manual trans was filled with a heavy weight motor oil. Where oil goes from "motor" to "gear" is arguable, but I understand what you are saying.

 

An update for those who had similar issues:

I took the car to the dealer and they noted it was not normal and the car was grinding 2nd gear.. they are replacing the entire tranny in the car under warranty
