I have a pretty major problem going on that is stumping me. I noticed that the check AT light came on, and when I got under the car I noticed that it was missing a trans pan bolt next to the O2 sensor mount. I drove it less than a mile away to go get a new bolt kit, and when I got back in the car, it shifted HARD into reverse. Then when I got it into drive it got stuck in what I am assuming is 4th gear due to the lack of all torque. The only CEL that is on is for the missing O2 sensors due to my straight pipe but the other code that popped up was (I forgot the exact code) was low power to the TCM. I swapped the battery and added some J-Matic I had sitting around, but when I went on a test drive the gear indicator screen went blank and the car lost power. After letting it cool down it shifts (HARD) into reverse, neutral and 4th again, but nothing else. Does anyone have any ideas? If it is something I might be able to do I'd love to spare the cost of going all the way to the transmission shop in my poor car.
Had this happen on my sister's car. Code indicated the Transmission ECU had taken a crap. Replaced it and it all went back to normal. Try to remember the code u got.

Just got the code from the buddy that scanned it: P0603 ICM keep alive memory failure.
Saw that thread and checked it. I don't think my code has much to do with this. I'll give it a test in a few hours so I don't wake my whole apartment complex up.
Tow it to a transmission shop. Moving it more than 5 feet is putting your whole trans at risk ...
TCM is inside the trans, yes. You must drop the valve body in order to access it. That means 8 qts must go back in after swapping it, if that is the problem.
That code is for the ECM not the TCM. ECM backup power failure. Disconnect the battery, pump the brakes, disconnect the ECM, plug the battery back in and check for power on pin 121. If you have no power then you need to troubleshoot that circuit back up to the fusible link/IPDM in the engine bay. If you HAVE power on that then your ECM fried.
There is also a ground wire for the ECM that's behind the glove box. Might as well check it while you're down there to make sure it's tight and not corroded.
