sorry, im new here, just recently traded in my s2k for the g. I love the car and all its amenities, the only thing I havent liked is the shifting. It seems like you cant take it up into the rpms in first and expect to cleanly go to second without dragging the clutch or get it smoothly into second. Im also wandering if my clutch is starting to go out anyways since it has 48k miles on it and the pedal seems to shudder a bit at initial take off..but my question is would this mod not be the same thing as just not pushing the pedal all the way to the floor? I can only push the pedal in half way and shift..just curious, thanks for your help.

Yeah but my question is, is it worth doing the mod? what is just keeping you from pushing pedal in halfway and shifting?

^ worth it. having to push the pedal in half way for every shift is simply ridiculous.

but the mod is basically just making a stopper for the pedal so it doesnt go to the floor right? I just want to be sure I understand correctly, thanks!

Installed this mod this weekend and it fixed my #1 complaint I had with my 06 6MT G35. The car is even more enjoyable to drive now. Thanks!

The D-wolf thread has been deleted and is no longer there?

Has anyone experienced any long-term wear/negative issues from the stopper, either from the D-Wolf kit or the DIY kit?

Old but important thread. Home Depot legs worked fine here. I didn't like the idea of coins with tape due to the added weight (better chance of tape failing). I've adjusted over time to the extra give in the clutch but it's nice to have immediate clutch engagement now.

what does this mod do anyways. Is this so you dont have to press down the clutch pedal all the way to the floor. I have a problem with my clutch. My clutch starts sticking to the floor after driving in traffic for about 15 min. I flushed out the brake fluid and bled the clutch and it got better but after a while it started losing pressure faster and faster. I'm thinking it's the slave cylinder but I heard that with our cars the slave cylinder is inside the transmission and is about 6 hrs of labor to put it in. I dont know what next to do. I'm thinking I'll get a different kind of brake fluid and try flushing out the system and bleeding it again. PLEASE HELP

You said it. Time to flush your fluid.

You could also use rare earth magnets, at least for the stop. I started with a stack of 3 3/4" by 1/8" disc magnets, then went back down to 2 to get a little more travel. I'll probably back it up with some double sided tape to make sure it holds but the magnets are super strong. You'll still have to use tape for the switch though.
