My original clutch wore out, so I had a ACT clutch put in... and I HATED it. The engagement point was weird and I stalled the car for the first time ever.

So I just decided to try this out, and it worked out amazingly. Its so smooth again like I was used to. Thanks so much for giving out this info. I'd pay you the $40 since it was that much help

Finally did it with the furniture gliders. Worked out very well. Thanks for the write up. I don't have to step the clutch all the way down anymore. Makes driving the G a whole lot easier.

Now, is there a way to lower the clutch so that it doesn't sit so high off the floor?

Why doesn't someone just buy the D-Wolf set-up and post pics of the machined parts?

I'd suspect that he doesn't have a patent and therefore has no way to keep his design from being copied.

I know he has people sign a waiver, but those people can sell their D-Wolf to someone else who then doesn't sign a damn thing and can post pics.

Plus, the waiver isn't going to hold up in court by any means. Again, I buy it, sign the waiver and then sell it as "used" to someone who then takes it and posts pictures is out of my hands.

I'd like to have a machined piece of metal than the furniture sliders. Maybe I'll epoxy the coins and paint, but I'd like to have machined pieces... Not paying $45 for it, though!

If they are simply machined discs that are taped on, why can't we get a pic? Not for resale, but we get the sizes and then we can take them to a shop and have them made and tape them in...

I must respectfully disagree about posting pics of D-Wolf's stuff, if he/she doesn't want it done.

don't make it too hard on yourself. Just get the coins and be done with it, you will love it!

But why? This is America and unfortunately, if a company doesn't take steps to secure their designs, we as a society can expand and make things better based on previous attempts. My idea of posting pics could very well establish it so that someone could take the two discs and expand on them to make it so they are not taped on. Screw in, etc...

Point is that I am considering the D-Wolf based solely on abuse. The plastic piece while a great DYI, I just want to avoid having to replace it after time of use...

I like the coin idea better, but I'd like a machined piece instead - hence the D-Wolf idea. But, if someone has a kit and took it off or didn't use it, what's the harm of posting pics?

They have pics of the D-Wolf set-up for WRXs, why not for the G's and Z's?

Because I think it's cheesy. That's all.

In any event, the concept is exactly the same. So put in the coins or furniture slides, figure out how many coins/slides you need, take the measurements, and I am sure you can come up with the measurements necessary for a nicely machined piece.

I can do that, too... The measure coins and make a machined piece...

I don't think it is cheesy by any means to ask for pics. I don't have the time nor energy to sell a kit like D-Wolf has. Therefore, I'm not going to steal the idea and sell it. Again, it's been 6 months. Plenty of time to have asked for a patent or similar steps to prevent someone taking his idea. But... it hasn't occured. He can also copyright his idea and work it that way... Point is that no matter what you make or design, or do, it will be copied and even at times, copied better. Sometimes, worse...

I think it is cheesy to sell a product that nobody can physically see until they sign a waiver and have it shipped to their door. I'm a little leery of that. Plus, I can't seem to find any posts after September of 2007 that pertain to the product. Again, I am one who very well may buy the product and try it out. However, I can get the machined pieces done for about $5 max. If I shaped it like the furniture sliders and even had a beveled edge, it isn't going to cost much at all. Probably less than the price of the sliders at the Home Depot. I know the machinist so...

If I'd buy the D-Wolf and it falls off after a certain period of time or doesn't even work as it has been over 6 months since he's posted these things, why would I want to buy it or even do a DIY thing?

Cheesy... good one. Tell that to every manufacturer out there. In theory, there should only be one air intake guy, one exhaust guy, one camber kit guy, etc.... After all, none of them can be accused of taking something and making it better, right? They never expanded on an already created idea?

Since you keep asking, I'll be blunt. I think it's cheesy for you to ask someone else to get the DWolf kit for however much it is, and post pics so that you can go make yourself a kit for $5 at the expense of whoever bought the DWolf kit.

Plus, someone has already provided you with all the pertinent information about the concept. There is nothing stopping you from making the machiened pieces.

I was asking for someone who has already bought one. If they sold as many as they claimed they did, someone has one that they either removed due to not liking it or removing it due to some other reason. Hell, maybe they sold the car and removed it before they did and can post pics.

Again, I just want to see what we are comparing against. It has nothing to do with anything...

I guess I'll end this bickering back and forth with the righteous crowd, but isn't it funny that you're cool with a DIY set-up that essentially copies the D-Wolf and yet you are willing to read and look at the pics to suit your needs, but me asking for pics of how they machined their pieces is BS???

You win. I'll do this DIY and make some machined pieces. When I post pics of the pieces and how i did it, wonder if you'd take the pics and have some made for you???

Whatever. I was looking for what material they used. Again, I am worried about longevity in the plastic and even in the aluminum stacks of pennies. Figured they were using an aircraft grade aluminum, but was hoping someone (again, who used it for a while) could show wear and what the material was, etc.

Jeez....

Got nothing to do with being righteous or the lack thereof. Your statement was "Why doesn't someone just buy the D-Wolf set-up and post pics of the machined parts?"

Last words - Yume's DIY that originated this thread was intended and created as public domain information. In the event that you make machined parts and post the pics, then you are offering it to be used by the public. I would say "thank you for a great write up."

Let's not get into any arguments guys.

The kit itself is not machined metal, its plastic. So if anything, it'll be similar to the pieces I used when i wrote this DIY.

Sorry Yume!

BTW, gliders are working great. Hardest part was actually removing the nails off the gliders with the tools that I have. They were tougher than they looked!

I'm changing the height of the pedal now so that it will sit closer to the floor.

Ouch, plastic?!?!? Whoa. I thought it was some machined aluminum or similar set-up. What's happened to the guy anyways? Nothing to be read since September-ish...

If it was simply plastic, well... I'm heading to the Depot!!!

Thanks, Yume for your insight. I guess reading the DIY, you can pretty much tell you've had this kit in your hand. Cool.

Sorry for the rants and arguing. Just my mindset was it was metal parts...
