Exclamation Recommended oil for '04 G35 Sedan?

What is the default oil used in these cars? I usually just have my oil changed at my local shell gas station and they use pennzoil. I know it sounds silly but I don't know exactly what kind they use, however I overheard another individual using premium synthetic oil and began to wonder if the oil I'm using is good/appropriate for my car. It has 40K miles on it too btw. Thanks!

check your manual for oil weight based on your climate conditions, other than that I use Mobil Syn. Most is personal prefrence, you could also search, Im sure it was covered.

5w30. Factory recommends conventional oil but many use a synthetic like myself. Do a search you will find hundreds of topics on it.

spoke to a person who works at a local infiniti dealer with the same question, his response:

"Infiniti engines are not made to preform or last any better with the synthetic oil. Some engines in some car benefit from the synthetic oil, but the G35 does not. It would be a waste of money to spend more cash on synthetic oil because it won't do anything for your engine life. No, it doesn't extend its life, no, it won't run smoother, and no, it won't help the performance. With higher end cars it may, but not with the G35's"

Not verbatim of course, and doesn't reflect my personal opinion, but he sounded like he knew what he was talking about, and there's no benefit to him for telling me to use cheaper oil on my engine. I say, just use the standard, won't do no harm =)

^ At the 3750 mile oil change interval, there won't be any significant advantage of using synthetic, but that tech is really misinformed about oil because synthetics have been proven to outperform conventional oil.

I am currently using Synetic-Blend, which I will be switching when I get 15K on my car.

The infiniti dealer forgot to tell u that the nissan engines are not designed to be redlined every time the driver gets a chance, Or be on a hour long canyon run or not to mention to be on a road race for 20 minutes in a 120 degree summer heat.
