20 hp, an easy upgrade?

Hey guy I was just wondering what it would take to squeeze an extra 20 hp out of my car (04 G35 coupe) if it is at all possible.

just up the gearing in the rear diff. Your not upping the horsepower at all but making the car accelerate faster. Ive read it good for .3 off guys best 1/4 miles. Thats faster for sure.

Get every bolt on mod possible, get it tuned, and maybe you will see an extra 20 WHP.

Depends on the year model and engine. If you have a REVUP motor, go for the MREV2/ 5/16" spacer from motordyne Inc. add a CAI for full effect. If you have any other type, go for a spacer, intake, and low restriction filter. If you have the bux, add a low restriction exhaust.

its an 04 Coupe, 5AT, which means no REVUP. does anyone know how much a spacer, exhaust and intake would increase power?

Heres what you can get to up the power.

5/16'' spacer
Z-tube (not much power but a little louder)
K&N drop filter (intakes make the car louder but the filter gives the same hp)
Highflow cats or test pipes.
Cat back exhaust
Technosquare Re-flash

Or you could save your money and get a sc/turbo and actually get your moneys worth powerwise.

i would go with 5/16 spacer, test pipes, exhaust, and utec

Everyone suggests the 5/16" spacer. I dont have the revup engine. According to the site the 1/2" will fit with stock engine cover. Also, the site mentions something about a core exchange for the MREV2 manifold? Would it be beneficial to use the 1/2" or the MREV2 manifold on a nonrev engine? I did not think it was useable power to have that manifold on non-rev

I also heard that Osiris is better cause it gives you more tuning option's.

Well after my body work is done maybe i'll start investing in this stuff, spacer, intake, tune and FI HFC's.

Talk to Tony @ Motordyne (Hydrazine on the boards here), he'll set you up!

What's your budget?

I've got an 04 Coupe 6MT and I bought the MREV2 and the 5/16" spacer. It may not net you 20whp but it will get you that much closer to your goal.

Do some research on bolt ons if you want 20whp. Do not compile every WHP they claim that the part will make. Every mod you do works with one another; they may make power in one area, but can also take in another. . .

Basically what TURBOTOM suggested is a good way to start. Make sure you get a good tune though, because that's what will really make the most of your mods. . .

is there a "chip" available for incresing hp for our g's? adding a s/c or turbo seems too pricey.

Thanks for the advice, looks like a pretty good template. As far as budget i don't really have a budget set all I know is I don't want to spend anything crazy like supercharger or turbo money. I really just want to go for an even 300 hp.
