Well I am spending about 80/20 city/highway driving and getting a consistent 15.4 MPG as well and I am in an auto just for the reason of the ratio above. My district manager does about the opposite and is crying how his sedan only gets 22 MPG. I have to keep reminding him it won't compare to his 4cyl saab that he tradded it for. Its a better car and not owned by FORD. I expected the milage to be crappy from the get go its a Nissan trait. Their only engine to get exceptional milage is their 2.5 4 cylinder and thats on the highway it would get a consistent 35 MPG doing 70. In the city you would be lucky to pull 18 MPG. Had an 03 altima prior to this. I think having the additional 100 hp is worth the 3 MPG loss in my city commute..

Try to buy gas that isn't 10% ethanol - it drops my mpgs about 7%. Most stations are now converting to it and some states are mandating it. Worthless IMHO

That's true right there. I drive the car normally meaning I'm not trying to granny shift or go slow.

What helps me out here in on the streets of Chicago is using cruise control alot. Lets say you're coasting from light to light, I notice that the cruise tends to engage at 25 MPH and up....during rush hour how fast can you get what, 30 MPH etc.....

I usually tap that and let the car coast until its safe enough to brake then I stop or slow down. Rinse and repeat. Its very simple and helps me on MPG a lot.

When I'm on the highway I get around 22ish MPG possibly more.

Also, I never fill past half a tank. I notice that with less weight, the car tends to get better fuel economy. This is the same for any car. So on about 1/2 tank of gas = 38.00 or so, I get 165-175 miles before a fill up (depending on my lead foot or if I use the Auto stick mode to show off etc)

That translates to 18-19 city. I got over 210 miles once (again on a half tank) doing mostly highway driving meaning = 23 MPG ish

I wasn't driving my car like a grandma but I was able to drive it and achieve decent gas mileage for a car of this nature. Which in my case isn't too bad since its Chicago driving lol

hey, i live in houston and do a lot of stop and go driving in town. I avg around 16 - 17 mpgs. That is with driving the car hard. I have also hit the high 15's as well once or twice. I live in houston and made a trip to austin and back and didn't push the car hard and did this in one tank full of gas and was surprised when i got 25+ mpg on that tank, so I know for a fact it just depends on how u drive and where u drive and how hard u drive. The range can/does vary. hope this helps

Two things:

1-Write your congressman and demand that they get rid of the 10% ethanol blend gas. The blended fuels are killing peoples mileage.

2- Remove your aftermarket wheels and tires. Sorry- but they kill your mileage.
