The thread I ran into brought up some interesting issues and potential obstacles, but if it works I am SOOOO down with doing this mod. Here's the thread. http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread...x+alarm+beeper

Hey guys, I am completely new to G35 Driver and just bought my 06' G35 3 days ago. I have nothing done but a million ideas. Do any of you have any knowledge of the Infiniti Intelligent Key system? It came on my car, I didn't request it, but it is annoying. As far as the electronic beep vs. the horn from the remote, I COMPLETELY AGREE and was the first thing I thought of when I bought the car. Here is the crazy thing, with Intelligent Key for those of you who are not up on this feature, you do not use a key at all, you have a transmitter in the remote that connects to the car so all you have to do is have the remote in your pocket, walk up to the car, and press a button on the door handle to unlock the door. HERE IS THE CRAZY PART!!! From the remote, when you press the unlock/lock button, the horn sounds. When you press the Intelligent key button on the door handle, it DOES make the electronic beep. I hate the horn so damn much that I never use the remote to lock or unlock my G35, I will walk up to it every time to unlock/lock it just for the electronic beep. There has to be a way to splice the two seeing as this option allows for both the horn and the beep!!!
I got the beeper today, and instead of leaving for work I couldn't help but play with it.
I immediately tried hooking it up to (+) and (-) 12vdc and got nothing out of it. I had a tone generator used for detecting speakers so I fed its output to the buzzer and heard a faint buzz.
I then broke out the frequency generator and set up a 12vdc sine wave. I got the loudest buzz around 3000Hz. I then switched to a square wave and got yet a louder beep. The interface will be a tad more difficult then I had planned, but its very doable, and will hopefully be done by the end of this week and ready for testing!

I got it all working tonight, on a desk. It will be interesting to hear how it sounds in the car. Its pretty loud, and sounds pretty good.
If you disable the horn honking with the remote (hold lock and unlock on the remote at the same time for ~5 seconds) does anyone know if it disables the parking lights? I added a parking light output just in case, but I don't think it will be needed.

Well, I got it installed tonight.
I decided to mount the 'beeper' inside my brake cavaity. I have the JDM battery cover, so its basically in a somewhat sealed 'box' under the hood. I'm sure this reduces the loudness of the beeper, but so far I'm happy with the volume of it, and I don't think I'll move it.
I made a quick movie on my camera. I pulled the car out of my garage so I could get a better feel for the beeps with background noise. However, my camera picks up background noise very well, and struggled to hear the beeps. If you listen close, you can hear them, but in person they are MUCH more noticable.

Here are some pics of the beeper: I didn't document any of the rest of the install because I basically wired the entire module in to my sunroof controller. The sunroof controller already had every wire I needed, so I didn't rip the car apart again to reland them all. The wires needed are:
12VDC constant
Ground
12vdc ignition (to keep the beeper from beeping when the car is on)
Door Lock Actuator (Lock beep trigger)
Door Unlock Actuator (Unlock beep trigger)
Beeper out
There is also a parking light output, but I didn't hook it up. You would most likely need to add a relay, and lights already flash when you arm it anyway.
Oh, to disable the OEM horn from honking I held the 'LOCK' and 'UNLOCK' button on my OEM keyfob down, together, for 7 seconds or so.

I made another quick video so you can hear the beep better. Its still not perfect, but its better then the first one:
