hey ive got this far and only spent 6 gs i own a shop and get great prices but i still cant stomach spending an arm and a leg on parts like some people do so i always cut the corner never failed yet

kinda wish someone would post some intelligent comments that might help point out a potential problem before it happens besides the obvious ie boost leves and fuel

go to my350z forum...they more of wrenchers then these cats..... Yeah I know how the prices for these motors upgrades can run for...kinda way over board. Oh wells....Keep us updated.Even if something goes wrong...FTH!!!

Hope it doesn't blow up, but I'd put good money into saying this will blow up the first time you go into boost. Don't cut corners.
PS don't go to my350z you'll get chewed out worse there than here.

stock dont matter/ belt routing
seriously now its been running 8lbs fine im not running anything more than that. 8lbs x 6 cly is still same air flow just gunna be made alot sooner.....the belt routing took a an hr or so but it involved cutting and spacing the vortech out about an inch or so forward than it is stock.

Well, my first comment wasn't constructive at all, now I'm feeling a little guilty for not adding to the conversation. (But I still wanna see the video of you starting that thing up).
Although I've got plenty of experience building engines, my knowledge of compound forced induction setups is pretty limited. I'm assuming that the dynamics of two compressors is not a simple matter of adding the boost numbers from each individual setup, particularly when using two different styles of superchargers. A quick google search on "compound superchargers" resulted in this generally good info:

I'm thinking that adding a turbocharger in front of the roots supercharger would provide the best of both worlds...but I'm no expert in FI.
Have fun... and post up your video! Good Luck

If i had to bet id sat the roots+TT would be ideal. I spoke with a builder awhile back b/c i was concerned on the potential boost numbers and he told me its def. not as simple as both kits making 8lbs so 2 would = 16lbs he just said that 8lbs is still the limit it just will come way sooner. i am running a tial wastegate to regulate boost tho

If all you are going to run is 8lbs, what is the point of two SC's? Either one will give you 8lbs. The Stillen is a positive displacement (Roots type) which tends to give you more TQ down low. The Vortech is a centrifugal type that will not reach full boost untill later. Now if you can find a way to smooth out the two and keep a steady boost going, you may have something. However, to take full advantage, you will need extensive engine work. The stock VQ is good to about 380 to 400 RWHP at the MOST and that's pushing it.

Alright people please refrain from posting comments that are blatantly obvious..no kiddin twin turbos are easier or whats thew point in the same boost levels with both kits. 1 its called diffrent isnt the goal to be the one and only??? 2 just because the engine ant built now dont mean i dont have plans to 3 screw turbos they may be more efficient but they sound like every other little fixed up ricer. if i had known the vortech kit would sound like a turbo i would have never even bought it. I was highly disappointed when i found out it had a blow off without a silencer...and yes i knw that they offer em
