Don't we have to drill out the OLD rings? Or does this just go on top? Would this 'mod' or hack job void warranty?

if you still have warranty you can have the OEM covers replaced and don't need these...

^ seemed obvious to me too - but apparently he has a concern about warranty... how would you address his concern?

I believe it's the full valve cover that is replaced.

^^^ he's referring to R&D Factory's post on previous page - this one: https://g35driver.com/forums/5392076-post63.html

I'm interested in the answer to his question too... I sent R&D Factory a PM when they first posted about these o-rings - I wanted to know specifics (part of which is the same question as jibberjabber's at top of page, how to remove old seals)... iirc their only response was bring it in we'll do it for you (are something of the sort) - not the response I was looking for...

I've basically dismissed this idea - I haven't seen/read any reviews, haven't read anything from R&D Factory that satisfies questions about how they work/install and longevity... I'll just buy new covers eventually.

^ sorry for my vague response, I should have qualified my response. R&D does replace the old rings, if you bring it in to them. If you buy their kit, you just replace the valve cover.

I have seen the process done, as my car is one of their test vehicles. So far, so good. This coming weekend I am going in to get the spark plugs checked to take a look for leaks. It will be roughly 7500 miles since getting R&D Factory's kit installed.

I am curious how the old seals are removed too, since I don't live in California, there's no way I can have them working in my valve cover gasket since I live all the way in WA.

I PMed R & D Factory regarding the valve covers as well. According to their response, they drill out the factory spark plug seals and replace them with their own seals. If you are local, they just re-use your existing valve covers. If you aren't local, they can do a core swap.

your warranty should and will cover leaking valve cover o-rings grommets. we do advise you to check for leak before your warranty is over.... the whole idea of us making these o-rings grommets were for those who have leaking o-rings grommets yet their warranty is already over. we do drill out the old o-ring grommets with hole saw size 1 7/8 inch. its is slightly bigger than the existing hole and slightly smaller than the o-ring....please pm us if you have any further questions....thank you
60 for 6 o-rings
90 to add OEM valve cover gaskets (both side)
100 to add OEM pcv valve and seal
above prices are shipped to lower 48 states.....

Any updates on whether or not those custom valve cover o-rings have leaked on tested cars? It's been a year so; you guys should have some good data for at least 15K miles now. I'm interested in a kit as both 5 & 6 spark plugs were swimming in oil. Please PM shipping cost to 94523
Thank you in advance!

P.S. I hope this alternative will work out better than just buying brand new rocker covers and have o-rings go out again after shelling at least $450 in parts alone.

My car is one of the test cars and after about 8000 miles with R&D Factory's replacement o-rings, everything is dry, with no leaks.
