HR Short Block

I need to know if the HR block will match up with revup heads?

^ Reasons? I say yes. If the head gaskets for the HR can be used on a Revup, that tells me that all the cooling and lubricant journals between the head and the block match perfect.

I assume you want to use the 37hr block. Have you worked out what the compression would be with that combo?

3.5 HR should work. I dunno if the 3.7 HR head gaskets are interchangeable.

I'm trying to do a 35HR block with revup heads. From what I've been reading the 35HR makes good power FI on a stock block. Plus it would be something new.

Pretty sure that will work. I don't think the design of the shortblock changed much, if at all. I think it just has beefier parts.

Exactly why do you think a 3.5hr block is going to make more power than a VQ35 block. You also have to consider how the valvetrain is driven (ie.. if it's the same inbetween the motors). Also the HP isn't made in the block. HP capacity might be built into the block but HP isn't. That's in the head/cam/valvetrain/intake/exhaust design along with the ecu controlling all of it.

Ya it might fit, but how well will it actually work? Is it worth risking total failure with all the money you're going to put into it parts and labor wise? How about sensors and ECU? I mean seriously why stop at the heads when you're that far into it.

The front timing cover is where I would be concerned as they are different.

I don't think the timing cover will work.

Its not going to work. Way to many differences. Just build the block. will save you a headache or two.

Why not just leave the HR as a complete motor and swap out the DE for HR. the only difference would be mass airflow i think. Possibly swap the ecu. correct me if i am wrong or missed something.

HR swap to a DE is a very different, difficult and time consuming job. Just as Nissan Sport Mag...
