Is there a negative to switching to a Z tube?
Z-Tube Installation Woes
I installed the Z-tube today. Its exactly what I was looking for...subtle sounds at idle but it growls at WOT. I havent really noticed any power gains, but throttle response definitly seems better. Does anybody know what all those attachments to the stock intake are for? My one problem with the install was when I was re-attaching the engine cover, I snapped one of the rear screws in half. I got the broken part out of the screw hole but my question is does anybody know where I can go to get a new one? Secondly, is there any advantages/disadvantages to driving with the engine colver off?
Thanks for any inputs.

without the cover-
the advantages: it looks like an engine.
the disadvantages: it looks like an engine.
I wanted to thank Speedaholic for his great DIY for the Ztube/POP install. I installed everything 2 nites ago and all i can say is awesome!! Made sure to wrap up the AC line w/ 1/2 inch fuel line rubber and wire conduit just to be safe!!
I think that a K&N would offer more performance gains than the Z-Tube. The stock tube is the same things as the Z-Tube but has a couple extra sound dampening reservoirs which probably reduce flow but not by any significant amount.
I did both and would definitely recommend it, mainly for the sound but also the small perf gains.
