Valve Cover Gaskets
Hi guys i have 03 G35 sedan, I have never had to replace anything on my engine before. All has been well until i noticed a burning oil smell a few days ago...after further inspection, it appears that my valve cover gaskets are leaking and dripping on the factory exhaust manifolds and burning off causing a nice hot burnt oil smell... Has anyone changed these? Just from looking at it, it appears the upper and lower intake will have to be removed for this. Can anyone confirm?
Also, i ll be doing some preventive maintanence and upgrading my radiator, does anyone know if there is a kit to remove the fan clutch and plastic blade fan on my 2003 G35 Sedan?

I'm trying to replace the passenger side valve cover right now. I'm having a hell of a time reaching the bottom corner bolt in the back. There's a wire harness and radiator hose in the way. There doesn't seem to be any way to remove the wire harness. Anyone replaced the passenger side and have some tips?

Not sure if you have done this or not, but make sure that you have unbolted the wire harness from all brackets, and unplugged it all, so that it has more play in it vs. being stiff and attached to all the plugs.

I posted that before i got started on the intake & valve cover removal, if the taking the harness loose didnt work. I found that you must use a swivel adapter with extension on the 10mm bolt that is on the left/right side very back bolt closet to the firewall.
I just changed all my plugs to NGK Iridium plugs, changed the lower intake manifold gaskets from the stock ones to the thermal thicker gaskets, and installed the new Skunk2 intake spacer on the upper plenum intake & installed the new valve cover gaskets, dont forget to use RTV on the front corners. Big Thanks to Mike at www.kteller.com for hooking me up with the new Skunk2 intake plenum spacer.
I m gonna let it sit overnight to let it all set, so the RTV can dry and seal.
While that is setting, I need to do my Synthetic oil change, & i m changing out my rear diff gear oil to Motul Synthetic Gear oil.
Waiting on my new All aluminum Radiator to get here next week.
