Vq35de vs. jdm vq35de questions

hi I have a 2005 rev up 6 speed manual and I got about 180,000 on the engine it runs fine for now but I want to start looking into a replacement. I have noticed a bunch of jdm vq35de jdm engines at different suppliers and I was curious does anyone know if there is a difference in engine because it's a rev up or am I just looking for another vq35de? I want to make sure I get the right engine for my car, also does anyone know if there are things that need to be installed on jdm engine for example when I worked with Hondas sometimes the u.s. engine had a sensor or two that the jdm counterpart did not have.

just trying to figure out all the details and what to look for when buying a replacement swap. All info is appreciated thanks in advance.

All rwd De's are the same, so as long as it's a standard De you can swap it.

De's only have one vvt selenoid, rev ups have two so the front of the motor look's different

so is the motor a different engine code for 2003-2004 I guess I'm tryin to figure out the rev up part and power difference. Not sure if power bump was a computer thing power wise or not I just want to make sure I don't end up with lower power engine so it confuses me a bit when you say they are all the same but 05 rev up got more power

thanks for your help

The rev-up didn't come out until 05 and it's NOT interchangeable with a DE, it has a different ecu and harmess.

The Rev-up got an intake VVT and shorter runners on the intake plenum giving it the hp boost, also a new oil pump. But the Rev-up also had a oil consumption problem.

yeah I figured something had to be different and not be a ecu thing. That's my main issue the oil consumption part my fix was a oil catch can so I'm not burning any oil out the exhaust like I have seen others and my last check my runners were on the clean side.

Thats my my main concern on finding the same engine used like I see others. So is there a engine code for my rev up engine to look out for jdm low mileage replacement wise?

Just look at the front of the Engine.

Rev-Up

Just get one that looks like this but have 1 intake and not two.

DE Motor

Don't get this one.
