FGC Gainesville, FL Meet - August 1, 2009 - Pictures
As you can see from the cars in the picture above, August's Gainesville Hooters Meet was a resounding success this year. I think we had more people and more cars than last year... Hooters opened their doors at 11am and we filled up almost the entire restaurant. Great job by Lyndon (w0qady) for masterminding another successful, fun Hooters Gainesville event!
Unfortunately the unluckiest guy award has to go to Brice... He ran into a 4x4 in the middle of the road on the way to Gainesville... Fortunately, he caught a ride to the meet and managed to have a fun time anyway...
Most everyone knows by now that the FGC has finally finished the design and printing of the new club t-shirts. All the Directors on the FGC Board of Directors wore the new t-shirts yesterday to give everyone an idea of what they look like. Here, our newest Director Veronica models one of the new shirts.
Daniel connected to Hooters wireless network and signed up new FGC members and sold t-shirts from the store. Good job, Dan... Shermie shows that he has matured over the last few years...
As I said, we practically filled up the Hooters restaurant with G and Z owners...
Poor Steve had to backtrack from Palm Harbor to meet up with the Tampa caravan at the rest stop... Hope you had a good time, Steve!
Hahaha... look close...
Nice to see some of our Tampa Z friends make the trip.
It was nice to see some of our long time FGC members show up for this meet... Several of these guys have been instrumental in the success of the FGC through the years... Sean Gilley (blue shirt) has always had one of the nicest, cleanest, slickest LR G35 Coupes in the FGC... great do-it-yourself modder with a lot of G35 knowledge... Chuck (clockwise from Gilley) is a past President that headed up for FGC for several years... Ian has been active in the FGC for as long as I can remember... Jason has been causing trouble in the FGC for as long as I can remember... Ron is a long time FGC member that recently traded up to a really special Lamborghini... I can't wait to see it... Rich is the President of the O.Z.O.C... and Sherman is another long time member that has always been in charge of Event Security...
Rich's beautiful 350Z
Lots of nice cars...
Really clean 350Z... very nice drop...
Very nice G37...
What is it about Laser Red... Nice G...
Very clean Sedan...
Ian's G35 was looking good... I really like his new carbon fiber trunk... very cool... I especially like how he had it painted to accent the CF... It lets you know the CF is there, but it doesn't overwhelm you with an all CF trunk lid.
Ian also has the new FGC stickers... actually, these are interediate test stickers... The new stickers are a bit smaller...
I might have a few more pix...
Sorry for posting these pictures so late... By the time I finally got home last night, I could hardly keep my eyes open...

The Gainesville Hooters is hard to find, but all the waitresses and managers are very friendly and accommodating.
We had a great time!
Did I mention that there were a lot of cars and people at this years Gainesville meet?
The parking lot filled up and people started parking along the back access roads... Nice Z...
w0ady's blue '37 was looking good...
Nice tape job, Max!
I'm happy to say that my G made the trip successfully!
Ian and his brother Mark have an old family tradition... They always like to get a nice photograph on their birthdays... Birthdays? Hmm... Looks like w0ady has a different idea...
Oh, I see... It was "Ian's Birthday!"
Let's give Ian some *****!
Ian was a great sport...
After Hooters, lots of us took the traditional drive to the University of Florida's parking lot for our yearly photo op. Looks like we might have had a few more cars this year...
I had trouble fining Ian though... Anyone seen him? ... Hint... I think he was still singing...
Here's w0ady about to pose for the last shot of the day... For some reason the next shot didn't come out... I think w0ady was saying the G club was number 1 or something...
After that, we all shot the breeze a bit and headed home...
Fun event... Good job w0ady...
See you all next year...

I'd like to thank veronica for helping me tape my car. On the way to the meet Kennedy ran over some wood on the road and bent his rim. Some of the pieces are wedged between the rim and the tire. Seeing as how it might not be safe to drive, he left his car at a hotel somewhere off the next exit. On the trip back there was a big wreck. Seemed like it had just happened. There were no cops or paramedics on site. All lanes of traffic on that side was blocked by the wreck and cars were driving though the grass on the shoulder to get around. The painters tape came off easy with no mess!
