Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread

Gord:

I received the 6 + 1 Wire Hyper-Ground kit on Friday. Your kit exudes 1st class quality, much nicer than the Stillen kit and for less $$$ to boot! Very well done, Gord.

I installed the wires on Saturday, Install was approximately 40 minutes. Between the instructions and pictures from this thread, the install was straightforward and easy.

I have only put about 30 city miles on the G since the install. The G is stiil going through the break-in period, having about 750 miles on it right now. My initial impressions on the limited driving after the install are similar to other posts from Coupe 6mt installs. Shifts seem to be smoother. During idle, I barely can tell the engine is running. Butt dyno tells me that there is a little more oomph than before, but this could just be placebo kicking in. What I will be interested in is if this improves the accuracy of the DVD Nav fuel economy mpg calculations. Pre-wiring, the average fuel economy has been inflated by about 2-3 mpg versus old-fashioned calculations based on actual miles driven/gallons used since last fillup. I haven't used the lights to comment on whether they are noticeably brighter post-wiring.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and making available your high quality Hyper-Ground kits. This is not voodo electronics. There are tangible results after installing the kits, as many happy customers can attest. Performance-wise, the Hyper-Ground kit a much better investment than the $75 that I spent for clear corners.

Gord: 7-wire kit rec'd w thanks & has been installed for 2 wks now (about 500 km)...my initial impressions echo others who feel snappier starts, crisper shifts and better overall performance plus increased fuel economy (guage also seems more accurate across range from F to E)...this item adds an "o", making a car that is already "smoo-o-th" into one that is "smoo-o-o-th"...many thanks to you for all your efforts. Ted

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread

Recieved my 8th wire today and installed it. Luckly I had
on hand a longer bolt than the one grounding the 4 GG
grounds and 2 factory grounds at the front of the engine.
It was really tough to fit all those wires to the same ground
point. The G was running soooo smooth prior the the 8th
wire, I can't really tell a difference. Maybe if I knew what that
factory ground was attached to I could figure out what to
look for. I had never noticed the factory ground at the front
left of the engine. Thanks Gord ! Still waiting on my 2000
Maxima to get the OK from the other guys insurance
company to start work. It has been almost 2 weeks since
that idiot backed into the front end of the Max.

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread

Sorry, I forgot to include a longer bolt with your 'surprise-gift' wire. You're now one of the few 'at the cutting edge', same as when I developed the 7th full length ground to the tranny. It's actually better to not know what it grounds to as this should minimize any placebo effect. Kinda looks cool though, don't it?

Hope all goes well with the repair of your Max. I'll be anxiously awaiting your feedback.

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread

Gordan,

Just recorded my best gas mileage with the 8th wire!
Got 19+ . Never been able to get that before. And that
was with the 8th wire going in with 1/2 empty tank.
Will continue to look for more improvements.
Thanks again for the 8th wire. The Maxima is still
in the shop, work has not yet begun. Enterprise Leasing
has really screwed us! They take care of their customers
who screw up their cars with their exta insurance, but
the poor souls who get hit by their cars get NO satisifaction.
I am really pissed off at Enterprise Rent a Car. They really
SUCK. The Max was hit by their rent a truck on August 2nd.
They have not even looked at the damage done by their
rental vehicle yet and have not authorized repairs be done yet.
Avoid them at all costs.

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread

My apologies. I actually don't do this as a business, and so I don't accept Paypal. I'm doing this in limited quantities for forum members for empirical data at this point.
I'll PM you the information.

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread

Gordgee

Couple of questions. Before I knew about you, I bought and installed insomnes (spelling???) 5 wire unit.

1. Do I Need More wires. I hear your talking 8 wires now. I know there's a 7th wire for the 5AT (Mine's a 6MT.

2. I installed a dual exhaust from a muffler shop in town, works great by the way. However, this morning I was looking under the car and noticed a ground strap (not insulated) hanging from the rear of the frame (driver's side by a suspension support). It hangs to near the driver's side exhaust pipe. Do you know what this is.

Thanks

Lou

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread

Lowrider, I've just installed my Borla system, and know exactly what that wire is. It's a grounding wire that runs from the underbody down to the exhaust clamp bolt. There is an attached washer that may have been broken when you installed your pipes, so you'll need to attach another. G/L

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread

Lou:

The 6th wire seems to make more difference in spirited driving. Some can't even feel it. The jury's still out for the 8th wire, we're waiting for feedback. I believe InsaneAmine is now offering the full length 7th wire that we pioneered on this thread, and the feedback seems to support its use in auto trannies.
I think you'll be fine with the basic 5 wires for now. Consider also that most of the available commercial kits are ONLY five wires.

I'm actually talking a 9th wire right now and am waiting for feedback from someone doing the install. I just don't have the time to access difficult areas of the car myself right now.
