Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread
Holy God...what a long thread...1hr 45mins...that's how long from start to till now...
I am definitely going to get one of these kits...
Is there even (1) Negative (no pun intended) to doing this? From what I have read, if the routhing is done right with one of the two custom kits out there, we can easily rebolt the Intake Plenum Cover back on. Also, I read the one post about a lost feeling of torque which I don't want to happen, but with the other couple hundred repsonses I haven't seen that kind of response...so is this a no-brainer to do or what?

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread
Just installed Gordon's 8 wire kit. Made quite a difference as far as smoothness. Can't even feel the engine at idle. One problem though, I coundn't locate the lower mounting point for the #7 (transmission) wire. I looked at all the photos avaliable but could not find it. Even took off the right front wheel. Must be my tired old eyes. If there is someone in the San Fernando Valley who would be willing to give me a hand I will gladly provide proper renumeration and/or the beverage of your choice. I have the proper equipment to safely get under the vehicle if needed. By the way went to Brush Plating Services this morning (yes, Labor Day) and Jane put on the black chrome trim. Took her only 1/2 hour. Looks really good on my Ivory Pearl Sedan. Really wish she would do the whole grille, window trim & door handles also.

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread
The wire hangs right next to to mounting point. I was also
confused as to where to mount the transmission wire. Route
the wire downward and it will hang right next to the ground
point. Good luck!

Bosssho:
Hope it's been a good read for you. The engine cover fits nicely back on. I think the feeling of "lost torque" is more the increased smoothness, but I'm not sure. From the dynos that I've seen (none of the G35 yet), all show an increase in both HP and torque, some more significantly than others. As I posted above, even 'Turbo & High Performance' mag thinks it's a no-brainer, and they're doing it for HP gains, and haven't even mentioned the other benefits that've been noted. You might also consider doing your Max if you do your G, as I've heard similar benefits of the Hyper-Grounds.

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread
just purchased the 7 wire kit.. can't wait to get it... but i'm not much of a mechanic... when you guys talk about trannies, manifolds, etc.. i know the terms, but i couldn't point them out to you if they were sitting on a table... so i'll probably have to do some posting on here to get a quick rundown on this stuff.. i guess the pics were real helpful. hopefully, i'll be able to take some of my install step by step so others can benefit.. we'll see about that though.

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread
It was a long, but great read. I ordered Insane's Blue 7 wire kit and I am looking forward to seeing the real deal in person...if all goes smooth, I will definitely look into the Maxima SE next...My Mustang has a trunk mounted battery (Along with my buddy's Lincoln LS) so no way for those two.
What about for my 03 Z71? I am hearing that American vehicles are a lot better grounded...which is amazing to me, but hey, maybe we can do something with better quality. :-)

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread
It's cool I neglected #6 for months now. Didn't think it was for more than looks but have heard it's the more performance oriented wire..? I'll call this weekend when/if I get bored at beach..thanks again.

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread
The #6 wire is connected to the front of the engine (where the 2
factory grounds and the 3 other Hyper-grounds are) and is routed
under the intake pipe to the drivers side strut ground. There is a bolt
on the front side of the strut tower behind a wire harness. The
#6 wire connects there. Go to page #3 of this thread. There is a great
pic of the #6 wire. It's the 4th post on the page, a post by gordgee.
Notice the 4 wires connected to the front. The #6 goes from
the front, under the air intake duct and then connects to the frame
behind the wire harness. It's an easy connection. GL

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread
I believe that SixFive has InsaneAmine's kit. The wire lengths and recommended mounting points may therefore differ. His full length 7th wire has been adopted from my use, and should be the same however.

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread
Gordon,
I want that #9 wire that connects directly to the ECU.
Have you heard any good feedback on it yet?
BTW: The 2K Max's intake manifold is made of
black resin. The 2 ground points I have on it are
probably no good. So I moved the old point #3
to the existing empty hole on the valve cover, just
to the right of the oil filler cap. Just so happens that
the empty hole on the solid metal there will accept
our standard bolt. From there I have the 2 other wires
attached, one to the battery and the other still goes
to the back of the black resin intake manifold.
I think
I will move it to the transmission when I get time to
remove the air intake scoop and tubes and stuff so
that I can have access to the transmission filler tube
base. I don't know jack about electrical stuff, I do have
a meter but don't know how to use it. So I am guessing
that the black resin intake manifold is no good for grounding.

Re: Hyper-Ground (Earthing) Kit Resource Thread
so, have we found out if this will void the warranty? i doubt it, but there are always questions about that when i tell my friends i'm doing this.
