Ok FI guys...My turn

I've done my searches...And I just want to touch up on a few details...Im in the market to go FI in the next few months...Im looking for the best setup for MY needs...I've ruled out Stillen because I cant stand that hood...And I love the JWT but 10k just isn't in my range right now...

Im looking to gain between 100-150whp...And close to the same in torque...I dont mind being on the modest side of those numbers to keep everything "safer"...I know theres no such thing as "safe" in regards to FI but I can at the very least try to help in making things better...I dont need to be king kong...I want a setup that seperates me from most G35's in the area...And one that gives the M3 owners something to think about...

So Im looking for opinions from those who are already FI or are experience in the subject...I want a "reliable" kit in the range of $5500-$7000 including tune...Is that reasonable?

Some kits I've been looking at are:

Turbonectics Single Turbo
Vortech
Greddy
JWT - (probably out of price range)

If anyone has some info or experiences they'd like to share feel free...OR if you have any links that you'd like to point me to that'd be great as well...Also tuners and installers you'd suggest in the Tri-State area if your familiar with any....Thanks and I appreciate everything you guys do...

I would recommend Greddy. My car is going in for the tune next week and of course with all the extras on a stock block we are shooting for 450rwhp.

Turbo is just more fun!

DONT go Greddy, you'll end up paying just as much as the JWT or APS kit. Where are you located?

i think APS is the most cost affective if you want 100-150 gain and safety.
i heard from other the JWT is a pretty good setup as well, as for greddy i've known two people that had their motor blown and they weren't boosting that high (maybe it's the tuner but who knows).

Everyone will talk up the kit they have usually so I won't be any different

I love my Vortech w/ 3.12 pulley and M3's seem to like my Top Secret CF tail light covers alot...

I am glad I went with the Vortech, I can wrench on it in my garage and it is effortless to take care of. No searching for turbo leaks and my belt (Napa) works like a dream w/ no slipping.

all in all I think the Vortech (bang for buck) is a great kit! I am running 9.2 PSI and have no fears with my engine which has 67K on it

Good luck!

Ive owned the greddy, vortech, aps tt. Out of them all the aps tt kit really impressed me. With any FI car there is things to watch for. I dunno why people think that TT cars are hard to take care of. Theres no reason to have a boost leak. You can have one just as easy on a vortech car. If anything you have more to look for with the vortech kit, belts will slip and the cog makes a TON of noise. Theres a reason a LOT of vortech guys go to a TT setup. The APS kit is as close to oem as you'll get. Im pretty sure my car is sold so I really dont own a kit anymore. But if someone ask's APS TT all the way!

I want to thank everyone for the replies...And PLEASE keep the information coming....

G352NV - I've always loved your ride...What was it about the APS that you liked best? And how loud is this system during idle?

Also has anyone had or know of anyone thats had experience with the Turbonectics kit? Im just trying to search all possible options...Thanks, keep em coming,...

I have to agree with Steve, I had the Vortech for over 41,000 miles which Steve installed and it was great for what I wanted back then but you do have to keep an eye on the belts and the cog can be noisey at times. I switched to the APS TT myself and it is a great kit, and a lot easier to look after. It also has that instant power I was looking for which we all know the Vortech does not but the price of an APS is more than a SC kit so that may be a deciding factor.
It also depends on what your driving style is.

Off topic, Steve did the car sell as is with everything on it? Great for you if it did.

You didn't mention if you're willing to build your engine. Go with the turbo and it's just a matter of time, especially with the power you want. All of us FI guys hate thinking about a build, but it's even more of a reality with the turbos and there are way more blown engines with turbos than superchargers. Take a good luck at your budget and if you can't afford a build at this point, base you decision on what system will best suit a stock block.

G35Tuning - if i were you, id go to CARV2 in Delaware and get a Turbonetics Single Turbo. Youll get about 385ish-awhp, great tourqe, and on low boost - be quite safe (relatively speaking)

I know some will disagree - but ive seen a T-Netics they did on a 350Z Roadster that was AMAZING. I think itll cost you just around 6500-7000 with everything.

Good Luck!

Paul, the car was sold on ebay today. But the buyer still has to pay for it. If its sold Im sure we can make a pod for you.
The APS TT kit has almost no lag. Im sure the same goes for the JWT kit. The turbo's are about the same size. The greddy turbo's are a bit larger and larger means more lag. I give it up to greddy for having the first TT kit for the G and Z. But it also looks like it was the first kit, lol. It looks like it was built in someones garage. The APS kit has good EM and Fuel management for a stock block. The JWT has no return and uses the SS box. The unichip that the APS kit uses is plug and play. NO CUTTING WIRES! Ive seen a couple pics of the JWT kit and some parts dont look too great but I have not installed a JWT kit. JWT has the kit on lock. They will not sell the kit unless you buy it from a JWT approved shop. Lame if you ask me. Im a owner that likes to know my car. I like to do my own installs.

TN is a good kit I just dont like a reflash for a tune. If you were to buy EM for the TN kit then it would also be a great kit.
