on the other hand though, you had your father, who is a mechanic, if you had any questions. plus you have done a lot of your own work in the past.

definitely not an every day persons chore to pull out their engine, disassemble it, have machine work done, blueprint the entire bottom end, check piston to head clearances along with cylinder wall to piston clearances, file fit the rings down to .001th of an inch, have 4 of each of the 8 different size bearings and 8 different half size bearings, check all the proper bearing clearances down to .0005 of an inch, and check the valve lash on the cam/bucket clearances on the way back up...

definitely worth the money to have it done right...

touche! Good point to mention, as easy at it seemed to me with my resources, my ASE master Tech Dad for advice, my local machine shop that has been rebuilding all kinds of motors since the 60's, and Jeremy around the corner for all his tips and advice.... this isn't for the weak of heart. It is always good to have a shop that you can rely on to fix any problems and issues that come up (which will more than likely come up) and just making the whole process quicker with a better piece of mind. So yup it is money well spent if you do decide to have someone else do it for you.... just gotta make sure you pick the right shop!

+1

Yes that is a very nice list. Together with a good tune you will have a lot of fun. Also the fuel return is not needed for ~8psi 400whp. I ran my car without one for many months and just put it on not too long ago because I am going for more boost.

um...who, may I ask is your "tuner". His estimate of the cost isnt even remotely close to what this should cost...unless its a VRT special.
