Not to thrilled about the turbo but lets see how it works, we could always change it later. The inducer wheel measures 53mm even though it was advertised at 60mm

 

Looks like you are doing some good work. You could always look in the marketplace here for some good used parts, theres no reason not to, its CHEAPER. Keep us updated!!!!!!!1

IC piping arrived today $120.33 mild steel. The 2 pipes to the left are 3" the rest is 2 1/2" and a 3 to 2 1/2 reducer.
Haven't had a chance to do anything more, real busy time for me at work.

Good news from the turbo vendor is that they are exchanging it for what was advertised with a 60mm inducer wheel Should have by next week.

i had to register to tell you guys what good and tight wont.
he is the king of fast on a budget. he has an 11 second 400hp 4 cyl BMW that absolutely kills anything that goes up against it and everything is home brewed home depot style. he makes everything himself and trial and error makes him fast. hes blown a lot of **** up but hes got it down to a science now. i expect him to come in at his budget if history means anything

 

Well, you seem to be doing a good job so far, I don't know much about installing a turbo, but it looks all good to me. I hope this works, and you can show that a "home depot" turbo kit can make some good numbers for a price that is more than half of the big name turbo's. Even if this doesnt work then props to you for atleast giving it a try!

 

Also, in order to stay with-in your 2k dollar budget. How do you plan to tune the car? I think a reflash costs atleast 500$, and I know the EMU's are double that. Just wondering how you planed to tune this turbo after you get it running?

Bro, if you get this up and running, which I see very possible since I personally know people that have done the home-grown kits SUCCESSFULLY on other cars, I see you in a pretty good financial situation if you can convince others to follow suit(me included)....best of luck to you!!

 

My bad I havent read the first post in a couple days, I forgot to look! What do you plan on tuning it with anyway?

 

Still researching on which would be the best way for tuning, ATM I have a set of 440cc injectors on order. The car currently has an AFC but have read will not work with boost. So if anybody has suggestions i'm all ears.
