Hey sorry to hear about all your troubles. Its good to see so many people posting about what happened to you and willing to give their input. Hopefully your car will be warrantied.

My only question is if its not warrantied, how much approx would you be spending to get your motor back together. I've got to imagine you have a hook up of some kind at some tuner shop because at the rates per hour most mechanics charge and the amount of time it would take to put everything back together, it would be a lot.

I just got my timing belt reinstalled correctly on my 97 civic and they charged $611 dollars for 4.5 hours of work! Luckily I applied for the CAPS program and they took care of most of it.

I let off and coasted down the hill, no weird sounds, everything still looked great. I got back on the gas and everything went back to normal and it didn't happen again - even on the drive back.

I didn't notice was any of gauges did during this little episode, it happened too quick - and then was over.

Do you think something similar happened to you, and yours decided to blow?

similar but my whole car shutdown.....I was going down a hill on the highway but nothing extreme or anything...just POW..no power or anything...SMOKE filled the car couldnt see where I was going and dropped off the side of the road....there was a slight trail of oil behind me on the ground because everything was all on the underside of the car and the whole BACK of the CAR was black from oil.....everything...from bottom side of spoiler to the bottom side of the nismo rear diffuser then wrapped around the sides on the quarter panel...My rims were covered in Oil...Other than that I dont know..I jumped out of the car thinking it was on fire..check around before I opened the engine so Oxygen wouldnt get to the fire if there was one...and I noticed there wasnt and then proceeded to open and was ingulfed with spoke in my face from the engine...it started to die down after the engine was off I found out that it was all of the oil the spewed everywhere on the engine and exhaust and everything else that was hott...

I can get a motor installed with 12k miles on it for 4500 out the door ready to run including removing my engine along with all the parts on my engine right now...i.e Procharger, injectors, plugs, Gauges etc....

no I am parting out everything and going back to stock as far as engine mods go....I will be keeping my headers (maybe), for sure the HKS and Kinetix HFC's...and all my suspension mods..but the procharger, plenum spacer, Topspeed engine torque damper, Grounding kit...All of that is going to be sold....I am trying to find a buyer for the whole super charger kit that wants all the gauges, radiator, and extras from the original kit, Tranny cooler, and other odds in ends that I have put on to make it safe.

What was the dx by infiniti? Probably no way to know for sure without a full teardown inspection...
