Buttonwillow track day on March 1st. Nitto NT05s proved to be a poor tire choice in the rain. Couldn't get them hot enough to get much grip. Still had a lot of fun though! Enjoy the pics...

^Sounds like fun. I'll come out and play when I eventually get my car put back together.

I ran no more than 8 psi. Couldn't push it in the corners...and even in the straights I was losing traction!! Felt like I was driving on black ice. Aside from the NT05s I just put in eibach sways and powergrid end links. The suspension does need to be dialed in and a corner balance is in order.

melted cam position sensor & plug

During some routine maintenance I discovered the wire harness clip for the driver's side cam position sensor melted. I managed to track down a new clip and bought a new sensor. But does anyone know how to de-pin the old clip? Trying to avoid cutting and splicing in the new clip.

Well that's unexpecting! I think splicing and soldering is best unless you can find a clip that matches.

pop the white piece off with a small flathead.
Look down into the pin hole from the sensor side. (not the wire side). You should see the plastic piece that snaps down to hold the metal pin in.
Take a very small allen key with a ball end and stick it in the hold and pivot the plastic piece up. Only takes small force. Pull the wire back at the same time.

Its very easy once you get the hang of it. Hard to describe.

E85 users...

This is damn scary. Afr was starting to show a lean condition. So I pulled the injectors and was shocked

I sent them out to be cleaned

Once I had the injectors back I started looking around it seems this issue was somewhat common. And it seems the remedy is to occasionally run pump gas or an additive like seafoam. Anybody else have this happen? ?

Yea kinda when I converted to e85 the guy said to make sure to run 91 at least once a month because that could happen. He deals in subies and evos and said its a common issue wit e85. So whenever my afr show any sins of leaning I'll run a couple of full tanks thru with 91. So far so good for the last 2-3 years

Out of curiosity, did you get CEL codes? Mine just threw P0304 indicating cyl 4 is misfiring. I think one of my oem injectors just went bad. (Trying to keep this motor alive while my motor is being built.)
