Not good unfortunatly, we needed to extend the tail pipes by approx 2'' and the intermediate pipes also need extending by approx 8'' or so, this will require all new tooling and fixtures if APS is to produce a True Dual cat back exhaust system for the G35 coupe.

First off, this is all great news. I've been anxiously anticipating the release of this system since you introduced it for the 350Z, needless to say its been a very long 8 months or so. With the quote you say that there will just be a small box of supplementary parts, does this mean that shops that currently have APS kits in stock for the 350Z will only need these additional parts? Or will the G35 kits be shipping seperately?

Also are you noticing much of a performance difference between the 350Z's and the G35's? In theory I would assume the numbers would be similar because they both have the same engine components, but I imagine the airflow to the intercooler is a little more restrictive on the G35.

And has there been any concerns with the reliability of the APS system on a stock VQ with the 350's?

Are you trying to fit a 350 Z exhaust system on your G35?

If not just buy an TD exhaust system designed for a G35 then you won't have a problem.

I'm planning on fitting a 350Z TT kit also! I was told that the APS exhaust is the best exhaust to work with the APS TT. A couple of welds really isn't a big deal, if it is the best option. If any TD system will work I might as well go with the Borla, what do you think?

This is one really fun car to drive, I think the extra weight of the G35 helps to get the power down more quickly than the Twin Turbo on the 350Z, I assume the G35 is heavier than the 350Z.

The G35 certainly feels a bit heavier than the Z car and as turbochargers are load sensitive (the more load the quicker the turbo response) the G35 feels very lively on the road, just squeeze on the throttle in either 4th, 5th, or 6th gear and the push is just awesome, I don't think I'm going to keep my car licence long.


You've got it in one, the APS dealers will only require the supplementary G35 parts if they have the 350 Z Twin Turbo System in stock. This keeps the cost of inventory to a minimum for APS dealers.

In addition this design also provides future flexibility if you decide to sell your G35 as the APS Intercooled Twin Turbo system will suit either the G35 or the 350Z. This doubles the potential market when selling if you choose not to leave the TT system on your G35.

I suspect that the weight of the G35 woulkd have more impact than the reduced air flow to the intercooler at around 400 WHP area.

I believe the APS Intercooled Twin Turbo G35 feels more responsive than a APS Twin Turbo Z car. I suspect this is due to the additional weight of the G35, this helps to bring the turbochargers on boost a bit quicker as turbo chargers are very load sensitive. I hope this is not my imagination, it just feels this way to me on the road.

To date no problem that I know of, maybe APS has been lucky as sometimes high volume production engines can have assembly problems and even faulty/defective parts which can lead to engine failure.

I believe that APS engineers have been very thorough in all of the critical durability areas, turbo sizing (latest generation Garrett duall ball bearing water cooled turbos), intercooler type, sizing and efficiency, engine management (thorough ignition timing retard/control, air fuel ratio, and boost mapping control), a comprehensive fuel system with a highly developed/engineered full fuel return system, a high volume air cooled baffled oil pan, Crank angle sensor sheilded harness etc, etc.

All of the above brings together a thoroughly engineered and tested product and we at APS feel happy and confident that we have addressed all of the important/critical issues to ensure the very best engine reliability possible short of rebuilding the stock engine.

I believe that thorough tuning computer maps (ignition timing retard, air fuel ratio and boost pressure) for the varing fuel octanes is one area that is of paramount importance. [B]In this technical area APS has spent hundreds of development hours to ensure we have very safe performance maps, all good.

Awesome, I'm positive you will be over the moon when you feel the the rush this APS Twin Turbo system provides, I'm nearly ready for another drive, I will be out on the roads tonight to looking for another victim.

are the parts included in the kit under any type of warranty for craftsmanship or imperfections or against failures when used within its designed confines? i.e. u get the kit, slap it on, run it as recommended and the turbo fails, or the manifold cracks after a few months.

Drawings, tooling, and fixtures are in the APS engineering department right now, by the time this engineering work is completed I would guess that production parts will be ready to ship in approx 5 to 6 weeks if all goes to plan.

Will this "G35 suppliment kit" be a part of the regular price, or will it be additional? Keep in mind, all Greddy/PE kits are the same price regardless of 350z or G35 platform.

 

Wow, the video of the G35 TT sounded very smooth and powerful. I like it. Love the sound of that BOV too. Great job APS! Damn ship those parts out now.
