I wouldnt listen to anything Vortech has to say. When I called I felt like I knew more then them! Just loosen the belt and raise the idle.

i had the same problem, and i thought it was a loose bearing so i had my shop take off the blower and ship to vortech. they said it was fine and it still makes that noise at low idle i think i am going to raise my idle. good luck

Hey guys...I'm trying to fix G8tor20's rattle. Can someone explaint to me exactly how much to lossen the slider bolt. We have moved it down to where there is an inch to play on the bottom of the cog belt, but, it still rattles....and more annoying b/c its rattling intermitingly and not a steady rattle...if that makes sense. Lemme know what you guys did to find that "sweet spot".

Slap on two wrenches--one open end and one box end (the one you're going to pull up on). Let the car idle and then gradually tighten the belt until the noise is minimal. If you overtighten, the rattle gets louder and nastier sounding. You can't completely eliminate the rattle when the idle is down under 650 or so--but who cares? It's not going to hurt anything.
