Agreed, i bought the full kit new from a gentelman on the forum here and used 60% of the parts and replaced or upgraded the rest. The fuel setup aswell as the intercooler setup is crap =( I purchased the ever trusty walbro 255 and larger pe injectors, reflashed the ecu for my upgrades, install a new FMIC along with new IC pipses and the car runs and drives great. I just failed to realize how crappy the damn bypass valve was . Luckly my new blowof is on the way but with the correct parts the ati is a monster. However id have to say that ATI jump the gun on allowing this particular setup to hit the market. i guess the quick $$ was the motivator, live and learn i suppose im 50/50 on this system only bechase its FAST! well it worked out for me thus far. I would def. check your charger install, i ve had my ati on for 20k now. Good luck

any kit can melt parts in the engine bay.

everyone needs to know what they're doing and don't say "whatever" when the a shop tells you that you should buy certain things to manage heat better and get the damn thing tuned right - with a proper tuning setup.

ATI's stock solution isn't that great, but the foundation of the kit is good

The vortech kit is no slouch either though. There's a few people hitting above 450whp with it. One recently hit 470whp/380tq tuned by AAM - on a Z though

I've got well over 20K on my ATI with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I am, sorry to hear about your situation. I wonder if your car was properly tunned. Remember, what blows an engine is not the kit but the tunning. An improperly tunned vehicle will not last very long. Good luck.

something is wrong dude not that much oil should be spraying out. Are you sure you didnt put too much oil in the sc. Did you call ATI?

again thanks for the input, yes i agree it is all about the tuning and that is where my car got it's problems from. Be damn sure that when i get it fixed it will be tuned properly!! as for the oil, it is not the charger oil, it is the engine oil from the pvc valve that is place in front of the chargers inlet( as per ATI's instructions) so i am thinking of a catch can maybe, i'm just not sure

that entire part of the install...i basically ignored. Instead of doing that i left everything stock obviously accept for the needed pullies the brackets the SC itself. Out of the kit i used the supercharger+brakets, the bypass valve <-- POS belts and small accessories then basically pieced together everything else. The intercooler is great but the piping sucked =/ so i just got a nice ic and customized the pipes looks soo much cleaner not to mention less pressure drop. The most important thing was to get upgraded injectors and a fuelpump. That in itself saves the engine. Good luck though.

When you super/turbo charge you must be careful of blow by. The stock rings cannot contain the extra pressure and they flutter [losing sealing] this pressure blows oil out thru PCV. It will be too small and not calibrated correctly......the pressure forces it open thus the oil..........need to add an oil/vapor separator and a catch can and increase diameter of hoses and parts...............or fix the ring flutter.

After seeing a half dozen blown up V6, please build the motor to withstand the added pressure/forces!

Q45tech thanks as always man for your help. I just started looking into building a new block. I agree these engines arent made to hold the extra pressure.

mcy4ever- Do you have any pic's of your setup dude. I hate the stock piping and rubber hoses. I had a clamp blow off on sunday and it took me 5 hours to take the car apart pull the blower out and put everything back together again. Also what did you do about an airfilter. The screen that comes with it is crap i didnt even put it on but the blower gets so dirty without a filter on the mouth.

Thanks for the solid empirical data!!!!! The rods suck period but also the piston's top ringlands were not made for boost nevermind the 10.3 compression ratio. Also the stock rings weren't exactly gapped for boost.
