Thinking of going Stillen S/C

I saw this dyno already at my350 and it is in fact a WHP, I think it's a bug on the software. If you look closely on the the red line before utec, before dyno was 253 hp which is pretty much stock Revup HP.

I did....+52 whp on a dyno dynamics dyno was the same as a local stillen car on a load based dyno in the real world. That number would translate to about 60whp on a dynojet
Not to mention my car being 70 lbs lighter than stock vs 70 lbs heavier than stock with the stillen kit

Really its not worth it? That is why we see people with Stillen SC's running faster in the 1/4 than one with a vortech or even a turbo. The Stillen gives you gobs of power where it counts! Low and midrange. If you get a SC Stage 4, you get it all over.
It is one of the safest SC kits you can get. I have yet to see a blown engine with this kit at all. If it was the fault of the SC Stillen would pay for a engine.
The Stillen SC Stage 2-3 will give 330-340 hp but TQ will be way up there. But the key is, other kits like Vortech and Turbos require you to build boost as the rpms go up. The Stillen gets full boost almost off idle and stays full boost almost to redline. Vortech doesn't give any gains till around 4-5k rpms and that is just PEAK gains.

Look at this dyno on a 05 G35. 281.5whp and 253.1 tq with only a UTEC, and test pipes. You could still add an exhaust, UR or KNR pulley, a pop charger, plenum spacer, and possibly get another 10-15whp. This set up would be more realible than any FI system. Not only that it would cost about half the price of the Stillen and you could do most of the install yourself......UTEC is plug and play...test pipes easy, exhaust easy.....Pulley I would pay someone to do this. After that you just need to pay a tuner to custom tune your car....about $500.
G35
Stock=Red
Green=Mods: UTEC, Resonated Test Pipes 2.5 inch
And yes I know of one blown motor with a Stillen.

I have yet to see a bolt on car make more or the same hp as a Stillen SC kit. My gosh where are people getting this mis-info from?
The Stillen SC makes 320-340 to the wheels!!! and more tq! Plus that is PEAK. Midrange is increased dramatically unlike vortech or turbos you only gain above 5k! This is why you see a Stillen SC car running 11-12 in the 1/4. No bolt on cars can do that!

after doing the math
Crawford Headers = 980
Crawford HFC = 500
HKS Exhaust = 1400
Iso thermal spacer = 300
Modified lower plenum (Mrev+) = 140 (has been dynoed to help non-revup motor)
UTEC/Tune = 1400+
Install will be around $1000+ for headers/HFC/Exhaust (MREV/Spacer can be done by your self)
That's about 5.7k+, this should be the same HP but will have less torque than a Stillen SC Stage 2.
I guess for less than $1,000 more you'll get that extra torque and nice pimp factor. Well minus - for ugly hood though.

yeah it's a nice kit, but you do realize that a vortech at 8 psi will crank out much higher numbers in the WOT range than the stillen will at the same PSI right?
granted, the stillen will launch better than a vortech, but the vortech can go with a size or two smaller pulley and start making nice boost at around 4k to redline - which are the rpm's that you are when you're going WOT
anyone who really wants to go fast doesn't care about anything below 4k other than launching - and even then you can launch the car at 4k if you have enough tire for it
and you're wrong about turbos only gaining at what 5k? it's more like 3500 rpms give or take depending on the kit/setup. Actually turbos give you more midrange tq than any setup. The vortech's is up high, the stillen's is down low - their dyno's resemble small V8's with the tq right up there at idle. No one cares about power at idle though...

Peak #'s only. But MEAN numbers the Stillen kit makes more power over the average. Turbos do not have full boost till higher rpms. So no I am not wrong.

I feel that these are good times for a 5 speed automatic. There were guys there with newer vettes and they ran 13.35. alot slower than the Z
More mods to come next year
MT slicks
weld rims (front and rear)
KJR crank pulley
torque converter
tranny cooler
new stillen fascia (I have it but not installed)
ecu reflash
It should go 12.4 to 12.5 or better.
These are actual and true facts about the VQ 35. I have the dyno sheets and track times for my car. Car was dynoed at Tag Motor sports in Oakville and the car was tracked at ST Thomas drag way. I have issues with the track times that some people post on the US web sites about the stock times a G or Z runs the 1/4 mile in.
Some of there RWHP # s are not possible. There is one guy who runs 13.1 stock. Just as fast a my SC goes.
Pm if you want to no all my mods to the car as there are many. It cost a lot of money but its worth it.
Next year I hope that more people come to the Z drag day in June. All G"s and Z should be there as it is fun day and you will get to meet some great people.
The stock 6 MT Z who won the event runs 14.5 all day .
The driver has great reacton times and is really hard to beat

Read this link if you want the Stillen SC. It is full of good info instead of people spewing bs about bolt ons will give you the same hp or more than a Stillen kit which is not true.

Yep, and not bad for a auto running 13.4 with a Stillen Stage2. That is over a sec faster in the 1/4. Auto putting 300 to the wheels is great! That is about a 80 hp gain. You can't get that with bolt ons.
6mt will be about 20-30 hp more than that.
