Gman; you can't be serious. This guy is the biggest magazine fanboy I have ever seen. He quotes PAGES out of magazines in response to simple questions; and obviously has very limited knowledge when it comes to automotive systems and forced induction. WTH are we even debating at this point? "this guy did 13.2 w/ this and that..." "oh but that guy had different mods that were not mentioned..." etc. That is why I hate these threads... instead of stating relevant information; it becomes a reason for someone with either kit to come on here and try to justify to themselves why they bought the kit! I am shocked that people like Sentry are able to post things like that without getting challenged by dozens of people immediately on the validity of his quotes.

And how is that relevant??? (your 20k+ extremely modified setup vs. an 8.5k off the shelf setup) ???? If you don't see how ridiculous it is to use your setup when comparing against an off the shelf setup ....I have no clue as to what to tell you!!!

I was referring to my set up specifically. I could fly by a stillen s/c G/Z with the out of the box greddy kit. I don't need all the extra mods to fly by a stillen s/c. I don't know what to tell you. enjoy your Chitten s/c.

I haven't added anything negative to this thread, up to now. I encourage people to go FI, whether it is SC or Turbo. I don't care what they use. I just bought this kit, because I knew it was right for me. I am usually kind on these boards, but that comment makes me say...

The only thing you would fly by w/ an off the shelf Greddy is your piston rings that broke off a mile back on the highway. Trust me; you don't have to tell me anything. Facts speak for themselves...when certain kits are making you lose massive compression in only certain cylinders...requiring full rebuild of motor...end of story. PS-G man; If I was to go turbo I would ONLY do it the way you did; w/ fully built block and all supporting mods. Once again however; I have to say that you comparing your setup to an off the shelf kit of any type is ridiculous. Also; I don't have any FI on the G; and never had any kit on it. I've only had it for about two months; and so far have not found any kit which I would put on the vehicle.

lol...dont sweat it bro. Gman actually has experience and knowledge on the things we are discussing; which is a lot more than some others who have been chiming in extensively.

you're partially right, although it is the tuner and not the kit that blows motors. there are plenty of greddy kits that have not blown motors. any kit can blow a motor with a chitty install and tune.

That's fine and all, but when he starts throwing in comments like "mullet this and mullet that" he suggests that we are some type of individual, when in reality he has no idea who we are. If he wants to give his opinion and spew garbage out of his mouth like that, fine I guess, in reality it makes him look really immature. But if he wants to be helpful to fellow G owners regardless of what FI route they went, then great, I welcome him with open arms. But to make a blanket statement like he did, ridiculous!!!

If the Greddy kit; or any kit for that matter requires the vehicle to be extensively dyno tuned by a top notch tuner just to keep the motor from blowing; I would not consider it an off the shelf kit. This fact alone puts the Greddy / Vortech / APS in a different category than the Stillen. Those would be considered "tuner" kits. The Stillen is a true off the shelf kit that has been by far the most reliable out of any of the kits....yet like you mentioned you do have to deal w/ the ***** bulge of death on the hood.

this greddy kit is almost out of the box. other than exhaust and test pipes, which most people with FI (regardless if FI kit) have them, he only has a UTEC (which replace the Emange EMS), AAM fuel system, and turned up the boost...................................and WALLA! 465whp! Keep in mind the fuel sytem and UTEC do not add power they just let you extract more safely. Regardless an out of the box greddy with a good tune can get you above 420whp and lots of tq to go with it.

Don't take it personally bro; a TON of stuff on the forums has to be shoved aside/ignored to get the real information. Forums are just like the real world; people area going to talk chit and get personal. However; his mullet statement was harmless compared to the bogus statements that the Sentra guy has been throwing out.
