That seems like an awefully long time for an engine. Man, I am gonna stay on the dealer all of the time. Get my **** and do it quick. More than 2 weeks is not acceptable.
Hey extreme, have you asked about the warranty on the new engine??

Yeah...you guys make sure the warranty in mo/mileage starts over fresh.

So....I just clicked a 1000mi and low and behold, I'm only a 1/4 qt low. Yippy, I guess
Had mentioned awhile back mine was slowly improving from my worst 1qt/1200mi usage to then 1500/qt. Then I added some stuff called Slick/50 and now only 1/4qt low after 1000mi from adding that stuff. Doing the math, I'll be 1qt low every 4000mi. I can live with that, being oil service every 3750.

Guess my VQ is for the most part has mended at 9900 miles on the odo.
G/L to all you guys and wish the best on your new replacements.
Hope the replacements end all this oil BS for you.
Think my oil BS has ended as well....hopefully my oil consumption will hold steady and not get worse again.

How are you guys getting an accurate reading of how low you are on oil? Are you draing the oil and then taking measurements? I tried to be as careful as I can be with the dip stick and it always showed I was low, so I added a half of a quart.

My car only have 5K on it and I'm about to do its second oil change.

Thanks for your help.

Glad to hear it 06CPV35. At this point, Id rather not get a new engine, Id rather my oil consumption get better to the point where you are. Its just a huge hassle not having my car and its going to be a hassle from here on out with warranty problems and when it comes to sell the car, itll be fun trying to explain why the engine was replaced at 11K.

I really don't mind getting a new engine. If anything, I don't think it's a bad thing. You have 11k miles on your car but your engine will be brand new. That reminds me, I gotta call the dealer.

Thumbs down

still dealing with this maddness myself.!! Sorry to say it but its time for another car.!! Yes,only 7 months and 4000 miles..This sht is unacceptable to me.wtf we pay all this money every month to have all these problems?? Not me.!! Ive been driving nissans for 15 years now and have never had a problem like this at all...Not even remotely close.Like they say "more money more problems" There is no point of me paying for a car that has to have numerous trips back to the dealer.!! The next time i go to the dealer...the car will stay there.!!! Im sorry fellas but this is unbelieveable whats going on with our cars.!! N to think that nissan knows whats up and will do nothing about it.!! As long as i live i will NEVER drive another nissan or infinity.!!
Just venting because im one pissed off customer.!!

There's no way theyre going to take your car back. Theyll replace your engine and give you a loaner. Best of luck tho, hope you get what you want
