Did you get your motor without the dealership testing for a leak? Mine refused to even look without charging!! What did you do?

I have an 06 G35MT with the RevUp engine.

I bought this about 2 months ago with 40K miles, I now have 41K, just checked the oil, still looks fairly clean, and it's not low.

I bought this CPO, would this probably mean that any OC problem would've been resolved before they were able to sell it?

^ Have the dealer run your VIN. Infiniti's national database will show if your revup VQ had already been replaced under warranty with the TSB or not.

i know this is an old post but i had that problem a week ago, my car has just under 70k miles on it, you guys will probably flame me for this but i went about a week with that noise thinking that it was a looser exhaust heat shield, finally i checked the oil and after spending 10 minutes trying to read the dipstick i found out i was low on oil too so i added some, im sure i've done damage to the pistons and theres nothing i can do about it now -.- i dont need an oil change for another 1500 miles, my car is NOT under warranty and irdk what do for the future can anyone give me some advice?!

From all the reading i've done since joining this site, i've come to the conclusion that the best thing for anyone looking into G35 ownership to do is budget in a Weisco piston and ring set with the cost of buying the car...seriously. and do it right away, before any problems exist...so you keep from having any bearing/rod/crank/cylinder wall damage.....

What are the symptoms of an engine that ran with low oil? Like if the person who had the car before u had the oil light turn on and all they did was refill it.

I see so many enthusiasts here and I'm sure you love your cars and want to keep them long. What Oil do you guys use? Does anybody use AMSOIL?

Yes, most of us do use amsoil. I noticed in the links that you posted, you are pointing to a third party site for ordering amsoil. The correct amsoil link is: http://www.amsoil.com/

Border-line spam with your link, but go here to learn about what oils are good in our VQ's: http://www.my350z.com/forum/engine-a...-and-info.html

Not necessarily, keep all receipts no matter where you go or if you DIY too. Many dealers seem to be a pill without some kind of service history proof. CYA it...

Ok so I posted in the wrong place. I have 98k miles on my '04. I baby my car and maintain it very well. So driving down the road and I rec'd the warning light my oil was low. Contacted Infiniti and they said they had to do the oil test. First 1k miles the service guy told me I had normal oil consumption. So at my next 1k mile check, I checked it before I went and the level on the dipstick was L. So I go to Infiniti and whoo hoo Momma is getting a new engine. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty. They are ordering the long block this week to replace the engine! Just to let you know the oil was not going anywhere...I kept saying I was burning oil and found it odd. So this time Infiniti owned up to the problem and currently the engine is being replaced!

Hi Guys,
Im new here...
I have an "03 sedan bought it used with 16,000 miles. Its been almost 5 years and I just hit 100,000 miles and I have this issue as well. At 1,500 miles my oil light is flashing. My car is a dealer only car. I only let Infinity touch my car. They tell me nothing is wrong with my car its probable the way I drive (heavy foot). I dont know sounds like they dont want to own up to a problem with these engines....
