Doesn't prevent the 'problem', but checking oil level is always good maintenance practice (commonly ignored these days). Only then you'll know what (if any) the oil consumption rate/mi might be. Jiffy Lube = *bitting lip* no comment.

The owners manual that came with my 1966 MGB said to check it daily. Now days, motors are so tight and well built that most people don't even know how to check their oil.

I just love this...

the words "well built" were highlighted in green so I hold my cursor over them and a frickin Toyota Camry commercial starts to play in the stupid box. **** commercials!

My first post on this forum, so hi! names Carlos.

I recently took my 07 g35 6mt coupe to the dealership and they put in a brand new engine in my car because of the oil consumption problem. Thing is after they put the new engine in my car I now hear some weird rattling under the car on the drivers side almost like marbles. Has anyone had this problem before?, I tried search but couldn't find the right topic about my situation.

I am sad about this problem. I was thinking of getting an 07 after I was done with my 04 but I don't know if that will be a good idea.

it's been almost 3-4 weeks since a service rep said he'd place the papers for a new engine. I haven't heard anything and they haven't been returning my voice-mails. I'm running out of patient to say the least.

What further steps can I take? Also, once your new engine arrived, how long did you have to leave it at the dealer? I have to drive cross-country to take a new job and I'm moving in 2 weeks (MD to CA). Can I have the dealer in Ca perform the job once I get approved?

Don't do it!!!!!
I sold my 07 6mt coupe when it had just 5k miles on it.
What a Piece of #%$@

Keep reading and you'll will clearly see thru the fog.

I will Flame Nissan/Inifiniti till the day I Die.

Overpriced disposable POS is what the G35 is and the 350Z too.

I tried to trade my G35 in at the dealer for a G37.

They laughed and said it was only worth $21 k to them.

I said "It's still brand new, only 5k miles on it".

They didn't want anything to do with the oil burner either.

UP YOURS NISSAN!!!!!!!!!!!

You lied to the American People.
You will see that is not good business practice.
You have discraced your name and business ethics.
People remember for a long time when they have been cheated
and lied to.

With out consumer trust you will fail, and fail you will.

Your "Inner Circle" propaganda is crap too!!!

So um, you sold both your G35 and G37 when they were still "brand new" with 5,000mi each? Seems like you don't have any type of luck with these cars. These cars depreciate so much it's crazy to buy new. I learned the hard way lol. Having said that my car is 5years old, just over 50,000mi, still going strong and loving every day of driving it

Nope, never traded up to the G37.
Dealership never budged past the 21k offer.
So I sold my G35 thru Auto Trader. It took seven months to sell.
Let's see what happens to your G after 100k miles or so.

OH........Don't forget to check your spark plug tube in the valve covers for that infamous oil leak. That will cost you big bucks to replace the valve covers.
You can't just replace a rubber grommet either.

Sure, enjoy it now.
Surely, you will be digusted later.

The G failed OC test, So, I'm being asked by the service mag that i'll have to make decision about letting them disassemble my engine and check for manufacturing defects before they can order new engine. Unless they find any defects, then i'll have to pay for the labor cost of assemble it back together, the cost?? 5k-6k$. f*cking insane or wat.

It's more BULL %&#@
They will find bad piston rings and then proclaim that you abused the engine by overreving it or racing it.

It's a loosing situation with those NISSAN SCUM BAGS.

May you burn in Hell Nissan.
