Everyone: Check Your Oil!

My 2003 infiniti g35 is now at 145,000 miles and its burning oil!! I know the miles are high and it should be but it shouldn't be burning freaking almost 2 quartz in less than 1000 miles! My pathfinder 3.5 has high mileage too and it only burn half a quart every oil change.
It's very wierd. No smoke or smell, and the engine runs fine and strong and no signs of lack of power. It smokes on cold start up but I'm sure that's from condensation since temps are in the 20's right now and when it warms up, it's gone.
So what the hell is causing it?
I don't want to get rid of her because she's been my baby! What to do? deal with it and just keep adding oil?

I'm going to either try stabilizers or heavier oil. I want this thing to get at least 200k before thinking of a rebuild.

I'm praying that the valve seal is the problem. That isn't too bad of a fix.

So I took my recently purchased (Feb 28) 07 G35S Sedan with 55K miles on it into the dealership a couple weeks ago after my SES light came on, and was told that my engine oil level was low. They topped it off and told me to come in after 1K miles to check up on it. So, shortly after driving 200 miles on it, it popped back up this last Sunday. I took it in to the dealership yesterday, and they told me that I will probably need a new engine. I am still within the powertrain warranty (I also have an extended warranty on it), and they said it should be a couple of weeks to get everything taken care of, and it would be a brand new engine. My question is, is this necessarily a bad thing? Having a new engine put in after 55K Miles? They also said that the new motor wouldn't come with an extra warranty (I have 36K from date of purchase for bumper to bumper, but was hoping for a little longer on the motor, seeing as to how it has a pretty big issue with oil consumption).

^DANG now the VQ35HR's with OC...
Your replacement should still follow the factory powertrain warranty period (6yr/70K mi), which is longer than the factory bumper to bumper AND you state you have extended too. Check your extended to see what is covered powertrain wise beyond factory default. Not all are the same.

I'm experiencing something similar, but not to the point that I'm completely low on motor oil during my next oil change. I noticed during my last two oil change, my car burned through a quart and a half of full synthetic 5w 30. This time I tried a 10w 30 to see if it still burns just as much or not. I have an 04 sedan with 70k.

Had my motor replaced about 10 months ago.
Occasionally I'll get out and smell what I think is burnt oil.
Today after a longer drive I got out and smoke was coming out from the engine compartment and when I opened the oil cap smoke came out of the hole.
Does this sound like an indication that my new motor is an oil consumer as well? I'm just wondering if others have had this experience. Obviously I know how to test for this myself.

So i don't know if I have a problem with the rings or not, but i recently changed my plugs after noticing a huge drop in my MPG's. Only the driver side spark plugs had oil on them, the other three were dry.
When i accelerate i can smell something burning very noticeably??
My friend said it may be blowby, i hope it's just the valve cover gasket.
