And do you know ho much time they need to replace the engine? One week? Also, does the warranty cover the courtesy car as well? Or you have to pay for the courtesy car.

Dont know how long its gonna take, I usually park my car for the winter, its sitting in the garage for the next 4 days then Im bringing it down on Monday(just got off the phone with them, my motor is there waiting). As long as I get a rental I could care less how long they take to put the new motor in, would just sit in my garage at home anyways. She didnt say anything about paying for the courtesy car, just said theyd have one ready for me.

Luther infinity or Lupient Infinity-Minnesota

05 Sedan 6MT, has O.C. issue. I still have powertrain warranty and was seeking the better of these two dealerships for service. Any recommendations? Ive had experience with both but not enough to gauge them for a motor swap. Ive been a tech for 20 yrs and just want the best service possible. Thanks (Luther or Lupient)

If you've had the experience of being a tech for 20yrs then you could give us pointers on how to locate the ideal dealership. It's the service reps that are roadblocks. It's hard to gauge how good the techs are except to ask how many engine swaps they've performed recently.

6MT Coupe
yamaha71...How I researched for my swap:

See if they have a web site and list how many Certified Master Mechanics they have on-board. One I picked had 5 and made me feel they were competent enough to do the swap correctly which they did, even with the slimy games they played during my TSB OC testing.

Ask how many Master Mech's if not disclosed on their web site and what VQdriver suggested.

You could also ask in your Regional section. Perhaps others will know and/or have had past experiences with the dealer(s) in general you're considering.

The shop is only as good as the mechanic doing the job, that's why I was approached to open a shop buy two guys. It was a dream come true for most, BUT if you know the "guys" you think about it, as I did, and as you all know if it sounds too good to be true then...you say thanks but no thanks.

damn. Just did the test n they said my car was completely fine. That's BS, then i told them that I usually change oil every 6000km and then before I when i drove around 4000-5000km, my engine started to make noise because the oil was too low.

So then he told me to drive another 2000km and come back.

Is there any counter reasoning to this? I have a feeling the dealer is going to try to twist my arm into waiting another 1,000mi or so....I think my oil level is dipping and dipping. Def by 2k mi I'm gonna be low low lol. I'm at about 600mi since the OC test began.

Just got jerked around. Went up to Pearson in Richmond for of test and was told it wouldn't do any good for the test being that the cars only come with a 4 year or 60000 mile warrenty or which ever comes first. car is an 05 with now 54000 miles. Says warrenty lapts in 09.

It seems that this is a nationwide issue! Stick to the TSB and don't take no for an answer...
