I was given the part number from a member on another forum which he believes is for the Version 2 RevUp.

Check you paper work and see if it's the same one.

Hector...you could probably confirm this number as being correct or incorrect, being you have the Version 2 RevUp.
Thanks for this info. When I get home I'll definitely be checking the paperwork for that part number

WAIT... dont use the one ending in 9. The guy that I got that from was wrong.
Hexxum001 confirmed his ending in a 1.

my car is at 1700miles now and I just check the oil level with the dipping stick today and the oil level seen to be somewhere in between H and L~~~
is that good or bad??

The engine has stopped for like 40min before I check the oil level

^^^That rate equates to 1qt/3400mi~~~
In Nissan/Infiniti's eyes...very acceptable.
IMO...not acceptable in todays engineering standards, unless your well over 100,000+ and drove it like you stole it all those miles.
But that's just me.

In that case, you definitely don't have a hand built engine from Japan. The hand built engines (RevUp) are only being put in G's that are having their engines replaced due to oil consumption issues.

my new engine isn't in the inventory yet..I was strictly told not to use any blends or full syn...After 10,000 miles I was advised to use ELF if I wanted full syn.....

I've posed a few times on this. But add me to the list of oil consumption - it's official. I looked thru my service records after I got the car (regrettably) when my SES light came on very soon after. Looks like it's had consumption issues since 8,000 miles (now has 36k on it, bought it with 34,000 on it) Took it in to dealer in Sept. The previous owner had all the svc'es done and all the oil changes done at infiniti, as he leased it. Problem this time - Timing valve solenoid. I've had that replaced 2X (2nd time today October), and my SES light has come on 3X since early August when I got the car (2X for the valve timing solenoid, and 1X they said the OTHER dealer forgot to set my ECU). Not to mention, it was replaced under the prev. owner as well! So when I had it in last month, requested a oil consumption test. Well, they didn't mark that I wanted the consumption test in my records. But light came on today and took it in - i mean THEY KNOW THE MILEAGE SO THEY CAN SUBTRACT, 1qt low. I hope they count that as round 1. I am going to take it in next 1,000 miles. Then sounds like 1 more round. The svc manager said candidly that it looked like I needed a new engine. He said if it fails the test 4X (although I think I have read it's 3X), new engine. He said 'it's not a big deal the warranty will cover it, just enjoy the car and bring it back for the next test'. I mean, he seems pretty up beat about getting this fixed. I know that's easier than it sounds, however. ONce it gets to Infiniti corporate I'm sure all sorts of s**T can happen and they will fight to the death to not give me a new engine on their dime. Am I screwed guys? Anyone else have their solenoids shot from low engine oil?

Where exactly is this number located?

Also, I have a 07 coupe. A few days ago for the first 2 minutes of my drive, I noticed a slight clunking sound coming from the engine, at low speeds, when I was deccelerating. After a few minutes I didn't hear it anymore. The next day I turned the car on and gave it some gas to see if the noise would come back and sure enough it did. I've been aware of the oil consumption problems with 05-06 so I decided to dump a quart in. After that the noise went away. I checked it again today and I still haven't heard it. I didn't get a low oil indicatior on my dash though. Is this similar to the problems most of you are having?

Oil light does not come on until you are verrrry low - if at all! Mine starts making noise on cold startup then it goes away - a fast paced rattling - whether at full oil level or not. But it lasts longer when the oil level has dropped. If you are worried about it, go into infiniti after 1,000 miles after they top your oil off and say, i have been hearing noises, check my exact oil level.

^^^and request start testing on consumption.

-Vblick- from what you say, sounds like you just dumped in a quart b/c hearing noises now noise gone.
You mention nothing about checking your level with the dip stick.
You could still be very low. Use dip stick so you know what your VQ is doing...lol

Just got off the phone with Infiniti. A new shipment of hand built engines is leaving Japan, tomorrow. My name is hopefully on one of them.

I am having the same problem where the engine is consuming motor oil. I am going through an oil consumption test right now with a dealer and I also have to find my Pep Boys receipts because I did a few oil changes myself. I wanted to know what other hoops people have to jump through in order to get Infiniti to acknowledge this is a problem and try to resolve it.
