NNA kept saying they were working on the issue.
v2 installed Sept. + ext warranty.
(1yr of ownership and OC complaints)
currently have 5K miles on new engine (16K total).
~1qt first 1K miles, oil change. tailpipe soot
~.3qt consumed next 2K miles, oil change. less soot
~.1 qt next 2K miles. oil change upcoming. negligible soot.
Should be fully seated by the time I switch to synthetic.
#9 engine is so fine. smoother, stronger, cleaner power.
much quicker runnup to redline.
I am happy customer.

Got my car back last Thursday after an engine swap, dealer gave me a copy of ship invoice - 10102-AC7M9 - as stated. Will have to run the car like brand new for the 1st 1200 miles. So far, so good. just a little tight with shifting, just like when I first drove it out of the dealership.

Ironically, wish my VQ had serious OC issues. Least I have a V2 by now like the z's do even with moderate OC issues

Hang in there, John. You have been quite patient throughout your whole OC issue. I have to believe that a new engine is coming your way, soon.

Guys I'm only up to 500 miles from my early November V2 replacement. No, I don't drive it every day. This is taking forever! I'm getting a change at 1,000 miles. I'll update you on any OC. Meanwhile, it STILL SMELLS like a new engine - oil burning smell. when does that go away?

What dealership have you been going to in the area? or one that you would reccomend???

I had my wife drop of the car today for an engine replacement at Frontier Infiniti. According to the service advisor Infiniti wouldn't even allow the engine to be sent to the dealer until the car was there. About an hour after the car was dropped off I received a call requesting all of the service records. I explained that the car only had 17K on it and the only service was done by me (oil changes). The purchase receipts for oil and oem oil filters were in the maintenance book. He called back and said he has everything that they are requesting and he will call back with an update.

ZeeForce over there has been keeping and updating the success rates of the V1 and V2 replacements.
G stats and results are welcome, being it's the same VQ, but with different replacement #'s for Z's.
We've been in private communication and have been helping him put together a synopsis for the first page of that thread, which is now posted.
But I give ZeeForce all the credit being he truly is the one who has done that thread justice.
There's a lot of info over there by me and other members. ZeeForce has kept it all in check.

There is a recent report from the OP (9kFever) that his V2 just consumed 1.2qt/700mi. That's bad news for the current hand built VQ's from Japan.
FYI: No longer using quarts as measurements of OC. Now it's to be in mm, as that's how Nissan has set up their TSB for OC issues on the Z's.

I just spoke with Infiniti and they are putting in the engine today and hope to have it completed by tomorrow. I asked for the part number and my advisor said he will have it once they are done putting the engine in the car. I explained that I hope its the V3 because the other 2 engines were still having problems.
I'll keep you update.

I've had this issue for a while, and have posted over the years. My 05 6MT was consuming oil, got a new engine.. still consumes oil. Got pretty much the same bs from the dealers.. "oh it's normal". "keep coming back". My second engine they said that losing a little less than a quart per 1k miles is within spec. To me it seems like more.
Honestly I've gotten tired, and have accepted that the engine is flawed as far as consuming oil. I feel whipped. Sad but true. I just don't have time for this crap anymore. Last month I go to an oil change at an independent shop.. they said I'm 3 quarts low.
A huge reason that I bought this car was because I wanted to do engine modifications. I want to get a turbo setup.. but last thing I want to do is cause accelerated damage to an already flawed factory engine.
It's been 2 freakin years.. I'm tempted to just do it (get a turbo), and change my oil every 1.5-2k miles. My logic being, that if oil consumption is the only problem, then I'll just stay on top of it with diligent changes. Then the engine should be fine right? I can't believe I'm even saying this.
Why are we not moving to class action lawsuit? There are plenty of people here who are having the same problems. Same stories.
BMW M3 or the Audi S5 is looking mighty tempting.

If and when we get our TSB, you can wave that in your Dealers face and say...within spec huh...lol...I don't think so...order me a new VQ now please...thank you
