^With that OC you'll qualify for replacement for sure.

How many miles on your VQ when it went South?
Just curious as to about how long these VQ's last before going bad.
Thanks.

I cant really say when these VQ's go bad, I think it could be related to the way how the driver drives, especially if he redlines every gear.

The dealer here said he has 3-4 cars on his lot w/ OC issues, and 3 are stock and one is modded, but the stock cars has a worse OC issue than the modded one.

Also w/ that OC issue, you should qualify, but then again after 4 quarts burned, you should be @ ~2k miles, which to infiniti is considered "Nominal Use" .

The Oil sensor (oil can) comes on around 1 - 1.2 quarts remaining, which is considered to be your "Warning Light". So you might have to wait until it get worse, but I dont know, anyway good luck w/ it.

I first noticed the OC problem after I put on the oil pan spacer. But then again, that was the first time I ever changed my oil. It was around 22K, and before the headers and cats were in there.

What forum? I would like to check all the bulletins and manual for my G35. Thanks.

Is the other forums OK with you posting the bulletin here?

^ Mostly the rev-ups have this issue. TSB is for the rev-ups only.

Angry

Yeah I had this problem. I service my car at SantaMonica Infiniti. They tried to blame my exhaust and intake due to back pressure. which is BS. no bolt on is going to consume the amount of oil I was going through. I was going through 2-4 quarts every 1,500-2,000 miles. Now I do drive very aggressive, however that still does not add up. So anyway after about 4 oil consumption test that they made me go through and 6, yes 6 service advisors they finally changed the engine after I showed them the TSB announcement on this forum about Nissan and Infiniti both admitting there was a problem with oil consumption, on the 05'-06' VQ engine. After a few threats to take legal action they changed my engine at no cost other than the fact that I had to remove all aftermarket parts and then paid to have them re installed.

Congrats on finally getting your replacement. Let us know if it took care of your OC problems. Apparently not all these current replacements are proving to be 100% OC fix.

My 05 G35 Coupe is getting a new motor put in it this week. Only went through 1 OC test and they ordered a motor ASAP. I hope this new motor makes a difference from the problems I was having. (burning oil, rough idle, slow as *****). I plan on not driving it over 3,000rpms till the first 1,000 miles to safely break in the new motor. Now the question is for me since I'm over 60k what kind of warranty will infiniti give me on the new motor or should I buy a extended one for $2,500. Damn that's cocaine prices,, LOL

Hey guys... I need to know.... how much does an oil change at the dealer cost? The reason I ask is because I noticed my oil is pretty low since last

time I checked and I'm definitely going to get it changed at the dealer and have them run an OC test. Good thing this will only be my second oil change

and the first one was done there and so is this one. Let me know! Do you guys also think it would be a good idea to print out the TSB? I'll highlight my

questions in black just in case you missed it in all that writing. lol.

I would not go in the dealer flashing TSBs off the break. Just simply voice your concern about the OC and ask to have a OC test done. When they do, don't touch oil cap, bolt or dip stick cause they will mark them and void test if tampered with. Main thing is to play dumb, don't talk about OC victims on this site and TSBs to the dealer till it is needed and be nice to the Service Manager cause they can refuse service to your car. Good Luck Champ!
