I need to do a more thorough circuit analysis but from the looks of it, I'm leaning more towards an impedance matching network rather than a filter.

A filter is usually placed before an amplifier so the unwanted frequencies are rejected before amplification. A filter can also be used at the output (usually a low pass filter) to reject spurious frequencies that the amplifier might introduce.

An impedance matching network is used to aid in the transmission of rf signals between circuit elements. I don't want to get too technical, but if you have poor matching, you won't be able to transmit a lot of power.

Guys, just use a no-resistant wire and make sure it's the exact same length... (silver is the best material)... 6inch is not going to help... it's the length that can create the 1 full wave-length.... not half, not anything else... Hope this help....

and use walkman headset wires.... those are coated... nice and thin... and won't short it out....

Motorola V3 side bottons is what i use... best fitment....

Hope this help...

just jumped on teh bandwagon and finished my remote. Thanks accordfreak for the DYI. It's really not that hard. The only hard part is getting the buttons and wires to fit right. Now i'm looking for a nice Infiniti symbol to go in where the mazda sign is.

you can pop off the infiniti logo from your oem key (it's glued on there with a double sided sticker).

has anyone figure out how to get better distance from the antenna or put the l.e.d. light on?

The instruction for getting the LED to work is on page 2.

You can use the negative terminal as ground. For the antenna try using a wire that is approximately the same length as the original antenna.

Good luck...one of these days I'll try this mod.

For the ground I used the battery terminal you had to resolder, the big sqaure part. I haven't had a chance to try and get the antenna to work better yet, but like DSI said try and cut a wire the same lenght as the orignal antenna and see if that helps.

yeah the LED works fine like the way kidfuzion described it. Same led type I used for the center console. I haven't gotten around to redoing the antenna yet. maybe this weekend
