flip out the key and look inside where the key was, there's a small area where u can push in with a pin or something sharp and pull out(at the same time) the part that has the button to flip out the key.(top half). to open the top half, you need to take off the mazda logo (it's on there with a double sided tape) and u'll see a screw. be careful after that cuz there's a spring loaded mechanism that flips out the key.

as for the bottom half, you just need a small screw driver to take the halves apart.

You don't need an uncut keyfob since you can't use the key anyways. To get the key to fit you need to have someone cut the head of the infiniti key so that it looks like the mazda key and you put that key into the key fob.

cuz of the weight hanging on the key i guess since it has more leverage. nothing to do with the chip.

I was just looking at Mazda key fobs... from what I can see the one that looks like the one you used is a 3-button (no trunk). Is this true, or have I not found the right fob yet?

there are 2 types of mazda flipkey/remotes, a 3 button and 4 button. the remotes look identical. we used the 4 button one. you have to look carefully.
