Replaced spark plugs, OIL in each spark plug thread

Finaly decided to do a spark plug change. IT was a bitch to do but it might be worth it. My spark plugs looked like they were a the end of their life at 70k .
I noticed oil on each spark plug thread, i mean they were black in oil.
Anyone know if this is normal??????????

1) www.google.com
2) search: spark plug oil
3) click on first result: http://www.centuryperformance.com/spark2.asp
4) scroll down to "oil fouled"
5) read
6) rebuild engine

The factory use of anti seize compound on the threads looks much like oil build up.
If you have gone 70k miles without fouling a plug yet, no reason for alarm

You didn't say how the plugs were burning----- were they a nice light tan colour or dark oily like the threads?

Our VQ's are notorious for leaking oil from the valve covers. You might want to check that.
