I don't know whats so confusing for you guys LoL. Simple, I asked about the rev up feature. A member said he has an 05 and it does have that feature, but someone else said theirs did not. So I was just trying clear up if all '05s have this feature or if it was just an option. Also wanted to know if all 6MT coupes have it from 06 on. Seriously, is that too confusing? What am I missing here?

Why don't you show us something listing the rev-matching feature on g35's rather than the 370z

Are you getting a transmission feature mixed up with a motor???

Yes, 05+ 6MT G35s will come with the revup motor with a standard 6MT transmission.

So this is where I had my question answered and apparently confused everyone. I asked about the rev matching trans for downshifting and this was the answer I received. And according to the article I found 2005 AT DID have the feature...doesn't say anything about the 6MT though. So the rev up engine wasn't what I was going for, when I said rev up I basically meant the engine revs up to match rpms. So I worded it wrong, sorry for that

"The 2005 G35 coupe is aimed at the true car enthusiast. Its advanced 5-speed automatic transmission features a manual mode function with new downshift rev-matching, which revs the engine with each downshift to provide better response for the driver. The close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission offers an improved shifter for better feel during shifting. Infiniti's Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system is standard on every G35 coupe. "

Exactly, you're asking about a feature that didn't come with our 6mt cars. It was released with the 370z. Someone told you they didn't have it and you tried to tell them that his car just didn't have it but it was an option.

Automatic rev matching /= 6mt revmatching...

Yes, I got "cornfused" about that, evidently it was ONLY in the 5AT. Which I thought was stupid.

I do think it's a useful feature to have on an auto. You can downshift for the corner without unsettling the suspension. Otherwise, the trans downshifts when using the paddles, weight shifts as the wheels cause the engine to speed up. Less wear and tear on the trans fluid too.

LOL @ rev matching in an automatic. What's the point?

As for the confusion, I think you had rev up engine mixed up with rev match. Two different things.

Well, it is a transmission which shifts up and down through a series of gears by itself. Rev-matching makes perfect sense in making the thing more efficient, wearing out fewer parts while offering more performance for those that don't want to deal with a clutch through everyday traffic.
