OMGIDON'TTHINKICAN READALLTHISJUMBLEDTOGETHER!

I would suggest the Jim Wolf Technology clutch PACKAGE. It includes a light weight flywheel, clutch disc, Pressure plate, throw out bearing, pivot bearing, Stainless Steel clutch slave line and other goodies. You can buy it for + or - $800.00 and it will cost you $4-500 for the install. MUCH better clutch for MUCH less money than the STealership. Two things, it is a lot stronger clutch (450 hp+) and the pedal feel shows it. The lightened flywheel will give off a rattle at idle, this is normal. IF you can't stand the rattle, you will need the factory dual mass flywheel.

NO

If you are not a regular mechanic, don't try it. I got mine put in for $400 about 2 years ago.

You have to remove the exhaust, crossmember and make sure you get the correct clutch pilot tool to align it alll up, not something you want to do on jack stands.

Chatter noise is very annoying & I hate it. I used Osiris to up my idle to 850 it's a little better but still there.

I think he was askin about the RJM bracket install, not clutch replacement.

Great Write-up. Too many people around here in their Z fly around downshifting without ANY rev match... hilarious.

I read pretty much all of this at one sitting so I may have forgotten...but I thought some of the G's (I know the Z did) came with a Rev feature that automatically matches your revs for smooth shifting. Is this not true or is it just not as accurate as trying to do it yourself? I am not new to manual trans but I was just curious. I am looking to get a 6MT at some point and I just wanted to know if my car would end up with it. I think 05 -07 had that rev match tech...am I right?

Yes, some of the later MTs had the "Rev Match". It matched the RPM on a down shift to make it smoother. I don't remembe the year.

^^^Completely false. '05-'07 G35's had it. I don't know if all 6MT models did but I know that some came with it. I can't speak for the G37 though

my 05 6mt does not rev up the rpm for me on a downshift. I still have to manually do it.

We're talking about real manual trans cars, you know, clutch pedal, double H gear shifter, etc.. Not sure if the 5AT had downshift rev matching or not, but that's not what's in question.

Apparently some 05's have it. I am guessing since not everyone has it it was an option.
