I am very happy that my tips have helped one or two or hundreds of people, in driving their car correctly...

Speaking of car...

Technically, if you want to be going as fast as possible, yes. Your motor won't necessarily make more power, but reducing shifting time will get your motor to make more power sooner - your car isn't accelerating when your foot is off the gas when you're taking your time to change gears. Shift time is why some of the newer cars like the GTR has such a big advantage over traditional MT cars with similar horsepower numbers.

Hi everyones My name is Dan, I just purchased a used 06 6mt g35 coupe, the fellow whoom i purchased my g off had the dealer do a engine swap with brand new clutch and tranny due to too much oil consumption at 80k, i purchased it at 135k and I'm a little worried about the clutch... the engagement point is very high, other g35s i have driven had good engagement points at either half way or (as i prefer) almost right off the floor...It bugs me a lot so i asked if the clutch was worn and needed to be replaced he said it is a 13pound aftermarket light weight flywheel and clutch that he got infiniti to install because it was a little less costly than the stock OEM 31 pound flywheel, now i have a feeling he might have ripped me off and sold me the car with a burn out clutch because it barely catches...but he showed me receipts and the car did have a brand new tranny and clutch installed at 80k so the clutch only has 55k on it... now i have 3questions i have read many threads about being able to adjust the engagement points on the g35 clutch by adjusting a rod or putting pennies or nickels somewhere how ever i do not like the sound of putting pennies and nickels anywhere near my transmission or clutch and iv read many threads where peoples clutches have messed up and gotten stuck...or what not...now back to my 3 questions, is this normal am i just not use to this lightweight performance flywheel with high engagement point or does it sound like buddy sold me a car with a burnt out clutch( keep in mind clutch only has 55k) or just didn't break it in right/ drove car hard burned clutch? or is this just how lightweight flywheel and clutches catch and are?, because a clutch should be good for 100k? and if not (meaning clutch is still good) how do i properly/ correctly adjust it/Clutch/ROD to make engagement point lower/ closer to floor. And if Clutch is no good/burnt out What is the BEST clutch/flywheel kit i should put in my stock 06 g35 coupe for lower/close as possible to floor engagement and tough clutch like feeling, that is able to shift at lower rpm without chattering. not this garbage light wheel flywheel that chatters at red lights and barely catches in 1st gear and sounds like a box of nails when u shift under 2k rpm in 1st 2nd and sometimes 3 rd ... BS. I am trying to fix my clutch ASAP any of your guys input or advice would help me significantly i am sorry for the multiple questions in one thread but if any of you could answer them all it would help me ALOT Thanks you so much for taking your time to read this!!! I'm sure theirs other g35 drivers out their having the same problem so hopefully i can help out some other people too! thanks!!

shouldn't a lightened flywheel make the car want to stall easier. and it sounds like you're experiencing the opposite of that (slipping because it's worn rather than wanting to stall)

i had a lightened flywheel on my evo and it was very easy to stall if you didn't rev it enough from a stop.

a clutchs life depends on how its driven and who drives it. if an idiot who can't drive a manual is driving it, it will definitely not last 100k.

the G35 is known to have a pretty high engagement point. i did a cheap fix and put a rubber stopper on the clutch pedal stop bracket so that the pedal hits the rubber stop earlier, thereby eliminating the last 20-25% of travel, and consequently having the effect of lowering the engagement point.

Another fix for that engagement point is the RJM bracket, best fix for that by far. You won't need a new clutch to lower the engagement, the bracket itself adjusts for that.

I don't think your clutch is burnt up (hopefully) but maybe just your engagement is super high still.

It's kinda hard to say but I think if you get that bracket and adjust it, you'll be able to tell if your clutch is still good and only have to spend 150 or so instead of a whole new flywheel/clutch if that's what you were going for.

were could i purchase a RJMbracket and install it, also i think my clutch is burnt...it doesn't jerk my car forward when i engage the clutch after accelerating in a gear(like my old one)at all when i engage clutch it feels like its just barely getting the gear into neutral, sometimes slipping barely opening the gear box. sometimes i have hard time getting the shifter into gear i can feel the gearbox grinding on the shifter barely wanting to open... and i know how to drive mt its not my driving the clutch in this car just feels like a toy, maybe i am not use to the 13 pound lightweight flywheel...vs my old 31 pounds oem...but...i don't really want to get use to it if this is how it performs... i like my old 31 pound oem flywheel think my best bet is to replace with a 31 pound oem flywheel and RJM bracket... i even smell burned clutch smell omitting from under my car to inside the interior... i don't mind spending some coin to replace everything if someone could just tell em exactly what i need cuz i went o a shop and they said i don't need a new fly wheel they just "resurface" it and then install a new clutch and use my same flywheel... how ever if this is the case i do need a new one... cuz this 13 pound bs isn't cutting it now if i do so do i need a new clutch as wheel... what is my best bet to take to my local infiniti dealership or a local specialist here in the city... or order a clutch kit and get my family mechanic to do it...?!?!?!???? . your replys are grately appreciated!

man you need to space out a bit, i got dizzy reading your reply lol

I had the same issue when I installed my light weight flywheel. I got the RJM bracket and I'm very happy with the results. Definitely worth the 150~ish

You can buy it online from http://rjmperformance.com Ryan is an awesome guy and stands behind what he sells. Mine been on the car since April. Very happy

It's very simple & straight forward. Simple step by step instructions are provided. With pictures and detail. You really can't messed it up lol

Many people said its softer but I found it the same. But the engaging point can be changed and the window is also widened
