^ VQ37VHR as well as a VQ35HR won't fit...easily. Taller engine deck height, different ECU, dual air intakes so-on and so forth. Guess it could be done, but not worth the 'cost' and would require a custom bubbled hood, like the 07-08 350Z's have.

If I had to replace the engine, at $8k, I'd seriously consider an LS1 (or 2 or 3) swap:

Your link points to a $2.2K "mount kit"
WTH is that?

A mount kit to put an LS1 in the 350z/G35

The funny thing is you very likely could have an OC problem on them as well haha.

Have you, or do you know anyone that has actually tried this?
Just askin'...

Oh, a Hot Rod!
If I wanted a Camaro, I'd buy a Camaro.
Doesn't seem like a good solution IMO...

No I haven't and don't know anyone who has personally, but hey ya never know maybe someday/someone will. Almost anything is possible with lots of bank and time.

What was it...a few years ago I think...Top Secret TT'd a VK45 (V8) and stuffed in a G35

^If a 07 G35 'sedan', that has the new 80% re-designed VQ aka VQ35HR. To my knowledge, that engine does NOT experience the same issue.

Hey guys. I have an 05 g35 coupe rev-up engine. I bought the car with 59000 miles. I noticed that my oil level dropped significantly after one trip to a nearby state. I searched for the oil consumption issue online and found that I am not alone. Anyway... I went to my infiniti dealership and told them about the problem. They did an oil consumption test and requested that I come back after 1000 miles. Well I did and they told me that my oil level is 14mm short and they are ordering me a new engine. I should have the new engine installed by the end of this week.
I am thinking of replacing my clutch with an aftermarket one at the same time they do my engine to save on labor. I am wondering if anyone of you guys did this before and if you can recommend a good aftermarket clutch that won't void the warranty.
I also have a question about the warranty on the new engine. The guys at my dealership said that the warranty on the new engine is going to be 12000 miles or one year which ever comes first. Does that sound right? I thought that the new engine should have a new powertrain warranty for another 60000 miles.
Thanks!

Hold on, you should be out of warranty, however, Infiniti decided to replace the motor under warranty? Did you extend your warranty?

^ The car was probably purchased a little later then others. Powertrain is 6/70k theres a chance he can still be under warranty.
