I have a new one...

Last night another member and myself decided we would try and swap trunk lids. He has an '05 and I have an '07. Well, when I got to his place, I pulled out the lining in the lid and unpluged the trunk release wire and was ready to go. The plan was to remove his trunk lid then remove mine. Upon starting with his he ended up stripping out the heads on the screws that attached the lid to the hindge so we decided just to remove the entire hindge assembly as they were the same on both models.

So, stage two begins and we find he doesn't have the correct wrenches, he only had sockets and the space was too tight for a socket. So, off to the store we go to pick up a set of wrenches. We jump in my ride, pick up the wrenches and head back to get the work done.

Now the FUN begins.... When we took my car to the store, I closed the trunk... without plugging the power back in to the release! So when I get back to open my trunk, I can't! I am like, no problem, I will just lay the seats down and pull the manual release from inside the trunk.... Only problem is, seat release is in the trunk!

At this point I start to freak out a little... but finally I calm down, pull the lower section of the back seat out (the part you sit on) and find a beautiful red cord that upon pulling released the seat back to fold forward allowing me access to the trunk release cord.

Thank you Infiniti for looking out for stupid people like me!

Oh, and in the end, we didn't have the same electrical plugs between the two year models and he didn't feel like cutting wires and making the swap work so we called it off..... what fun...

I did that once in my Mazda 929.

Cold not get up the hill so I turned around and went backwards.

WTF does that mean? Sounded like a mistake that would be easy to make, I got ahead of myself thinking the other guy had the right tools, then forgot I had unplugged the relay....

I think the guys that turn of VDC and wreck the car made much greater mistakes...

But whatever... Mine is fixed and it didn't cost me anything!
