My car has fleas! wtf?

So...went to Macaroni Grill in Milpitas with my girlfriend around 8:30 tonight. We finished up around 9:15 and walk towards my car. My girl decides to put the left overs in the trunk, so she starts heading to the back. All of a sudden, i hear her scream and look over at her like.. wtf is wrong with you? Then as i turn to the look at my car, i noticed that there are HUNDREDS of little fruit flies surround ing my car. I mean, it was nearly covered in these tiny little flies, and the strange thing is, i looked around, and no one else had these flies on their cars. So i start to freak out, and i dunno what to do, so i just tell my girl to hurry up and get in the car. well, big mistake, cuz about 10-15 of them made it inside my car. So, after sitting in the car for like 5 min trying to kill these guys, i just decide to drive home and try to let the wind blow em away. By the time i got home, most of them had been swept away, but there were still some on the trunk, so i took the hose and sprayed the entire car. That seemed to do the trick, but...theres no way in hell im gonna spray the insides of my car. So now im super paranoid about wakin up tomorrow morning and seeing the insides of my car swarming with little fruit flies. Has anyone experienced this? or have any idea what im talkin about lol. im just worried that these guys are gonna reproduce overnight and take over my car lol >.< (no pics cuz i only had a cell phone camera, and it was too dark to see anyways)

This is one very unique situation that I have never come across before...
Maybe someone poured sugar water all over your car? lol

i like the tuscan ribeye from macaroni grill , but yeah maybe someone spilled their juice or something on your car.

hmm... i doubt anyone would pour juice over my entire car lol. but if they did..**** em. lol but yea..i had the mamas trio..**** was pretty good

lol no just spray a bit once you're parked up for the night, not too sure what'll do to your interior

Did you just get a car wash that day? If so, it could be the water that was used. Or you might have possibly parked next to a bush with something nasty inside that attracted the flies. Just a thought.

Same thing happened to me a few weeks back. I was out shopping at night and parked under a street light. I came back and my car was covered with what looked like termites with wings. I threw everything in the trunk and got in as fast as I could. The bugs were probably attracted to the light and since the car was under the light it glowed as well attracting the bugs.

yea...they werent exactly fruit flies..but they looked like em lol. so when i went to drop my girl off at work today, it seems like they all disappeared, and i let the windows down on the way there to let them out if they were still in there. So, it seems like the problems solved, and everythings alright lol.

I've gotten something similar, but with random bugs right after i wax my car. Have you waxed your car recently?

yup same thing here wax the car bugs came on i went from ivory pearl to 101 dalmatians design on my car.

i doubt you will have fruit flys in your car...they are prob. all dead by now

if you have waxed the car a day or few before(if it wasn't washed off well), it could've attracted them..
