Unhappy My bumper is back on. Mismatched paint

I went and picked it up today from Kong's body shop in Atlanta down town. Was suppose to get it back on Wednesday. I got there picked it up and went home. I put it back on and I saw it didn't match He had 2 shades of VW2 and one was lighter. This one is the darker one

Going to see if I can get it resprayed again for free which probably wont happen. This hole paint job was $450 without refinishing the black part on the Nismo rear skirt.

Oh dude thats way wrong. Why cant you get it re-sprayed, its clearly their fault. Take it back, have them show you the paint they sprayed with. Check the code make sure its the right one. That should not be like that.

That's way off from the last picture. Was it cloudy out for that picture? I find that with any paint with pearl, lack of light make them darker. This is the effect of plastic vs metal. I also found out that our paint code has many variations (atleast for Carribean Blue it did) so i don't know if the body shop too out the varation pallet and compared before they just mix and painted. they should repray for free if the paint doesn't match..that's sorta a guarantee and body shop has to offer.

I'm going there tomorrow to see what I can work out. There was 2 shades of this color code. The other one was lighter which is what I needed.

Yeah dude, they should have tested before painting. If there are two variations then they should present you both painted w/clear and hold it next to your car and say AH THIS ONE! Not just paint whatever they feel is right. Yeah it is a 50/50 chance, but they obvisouly FAIL. Good luck

They did that. I agreed that it looked like the right one. I guess I'll see what happens tomorrow.

If you approved, they still can screw up. If they don't mix it right or not spray correctly, you can still come to this mismatch. I'm not paint expert, but i'm pretty sure that you didn't pick such a mismatched color. You might want them to bring those 2 sample out and good chance that it won't match neither.

Good luck and hope you get it color matched with little or no additional cost.

Had the same thing happen on my '01 silver metallic Accord. They had to install the bumper and blend it in to the hood and fenders, not happy about that.

Couple years later a buddy of mine backed out and boogered up the side of the same car. His uncle has a body shop (FYI: does great work) and he said the shade on my car was about #15 of 20!!! Don't know how much he was exaggerating because of how long it took him to get it done.
