It's not a recall. But there are two TSBs out there that your problems probably fall under. I have an appt for 9:00 tomorrow morning to get it fixed.

Associated technical service bulletins:
G35 (V35) 03-07

SB 2003-2005 G35 and FX; Fuel Tank Difficult To Fill At Times
ITB05031

IF YOU CONFIRM The fuel tank is intermittently difficult to fill. ACTION Replace the shutter valve inside of the fuel tank. See this bulletin for further detail.

SB Infiniti; Hard to Full Fuel Tank
ITB08041

IF YOU CONFIRM The fuel tank is difficult to fill more than ½ (filling nozzle continues to click OFF when the fuel tank is more than ½ full), ACTIONS Install the Cut Bracket (cover) onto the Fill Limit Vent Valve (FLVV) inside the fuel tank. See this bulletin for further detail.

TSB? Glad I'm still under warranty then! Thanks Seymore for the post. That explains why my tank dosen't show full in the gauge after the gas pump clicks indicating so!

No problem.

TSB = Technical Service Bulletin

Not as forceful as a recall, meaning you aren't getting any postcards in the mail, but will typically be done under warranty.

This is the site I find the most useful for checking Infiniti TSBs.

http://www.infiniti-techinfo.com/TSB...l/nmIndex.aspx

And here's another thread that talks more about what a TSB is.

i had this problem before and it can be easily fixed... just clean the "fuel level sensor unit" by using q-tips.. access is thru your back seat... here are the instructions... everything is back to normal after i cleaned mine...

i should add that there is no need to remove the fuel pump on the left tank (if you are facing the rear)... just clean from there.. to get a general idea what to clean, the right side can be easily removed because it only has the floater... real easy PERMANENT fix...

if you are not under warantee and your sending unit goes with your shutter valve it may cost upwards of 800+, at least thats what my service guy told me. if you live in jersey Circle infiniti is the place to go, as for mike or lisa they are both great. its nice being younger (23) and getting treated as an equal especially in regards to there service and attitude

I believe there are two different issues being discussed and is getting confusing. The one issue is for difficulty in fully filling the gas tank. Some have the gas station fuel nozzle click off and cannot fill their tank more than 3/4 full. This fix requires the tank to be dropped and according to the TSB the rear axle has to be dropped, making it a very expensive fix if you are out of warranty. The other issue is erratic fuel level indication. If the sending unit in the tank is at fault,it may be easily accessed by removing the rear seat bottom cushion.

what i was trying to say it basically both problems go hand in hand, if you search around usually if one thing is bad, so is the other.

I had some issues with my car....sometimes I had issues with trying to fill up my car...I click the gas lever and it just keeps popping...wont ever start filling up....I have to pull it in and out sometimes and it will finally take....on top of sometimes when I am done filling the car up my car will show like alittle over 3/4's full but I cannot put anymore into the gas tank....however once I drive off from the gas station a couple of times it will move all the way up to full which I thought was wierd..I have replaced my Fuel Pump with a Walbro fuel pump...I am now non Forced Induction like I Was before with the fuel pump..I never switched that out on the demod.....that wouldnt be an issue would it?

I just got my car back from the dealer.

They replaced the left and right sending units, under warranty.

Here's the breakout on my invoice.

SENDER UNIT-FUEL GAU-25060-AM600 $78.08
SENDER UNIT-FUEL GAU-25060-AL51A $78.08
SEAL-O RING, FUEL GAU-17342-CE800 $6.69
LABOR $70.00

They say it's all good now. I'll let you know if the problem, or any similar fuel filling problems persist.

BTW - got an '08 G35x loaner for the day. Took the wife and kids on a day trip; I liked it. I noticed a difference in pep. I hadn't noticed any difference in power with the '06 loaner they gave me last time.

Ah I am glad I am not the only one having the gas gauge problem. I would park my car at night with half a tank of gas and come out the next morning to a 1/4 tank. The needle would eventually creep up, but I have been keeping a close eye on my MPG just to make sure I wasn't losing fuel. This is reassuring.
