KBB Value Deprecation

How fast is the G35 expected to drop? I'm looking at buying a 2005 next summer so how much of a diff. is that, about 1000?

Also does anyone know how often KBB is updated?

KBB is updated bi-monthly.

IMHO I find that Edmunds.com's trade-in and retail valuations are more accurate than KBB. KBB's retail values are often way too high.

Just my two cents!

Edmund's is usually on the low side for prices and high for trades.

So maybe the average of Edmunds and KBB as they each seem to be high on the opposite prices!

Which one do you go by? Is Edmund's also bi-monthly? Thanks for the answers

I was asking because I know a lot of dealers use KBB as a standard, saying like oh this car is already 3,000 under KBB, it's a huge deal! And I thought it would be nice to go in the day after they change it and be like, actually it just went down 500 dollars

i thought dealers used nada, black book? either way, they have an auction book that list what it goes for in the auctions, usually it's quite a bit lower, wholesale price, than kbb, nada, edmunds....

We don't go by either. We go by current transaction prices, which are updated in real time.

i think that really depends on the dealer, too. i know of several dealers that use all three, they just pick the price that gives them the advantage. when i worked at lexus we'd just use current trans prices too, but several of my friends will just quote high when selling and low when buying(trade in)

Yeah, the dealers definitely have their own way of determining the sale amount. Now if you are financing, banks & cu's use nada, and take the average of the trade-in and retail for the loan value. Even tho it already lists the loan value. I agree with getting it from auction IF you have that kinda connection. Good luck.

I don't. But one of my friends might know someone. I haven't the slightest idea about auctions, and I definitely don't wanna buy a faulty car. I remember Mike from Riverside saying that most of the 6MT's they buy they usually just sell back because they are in crappy condition.

I paid 40K for my coupe in Oct 06. I imagine I'd be lucky to get 25K for it now.

Good for me but not good for you unfortantley. It's partly because of the economy, nothing you can really do. But that's why I plan on keeping my car at least 5 years, maybe 8 or more Until I need a new one (family) or a major breakthrough is made that renders it very slow or extremely inefficent.

If you have something other than a G I feel sorry for you. If you have a G keep it and the reward should pay off IMHO of course. If you don't BUY A G!!!!! Lol, ok, I'm a little bit obsessed. 6MTof course. I hope you find the right car for your needs.
