I was bored tonight so I started to sound deaden my trunk. All we had at the shop was Stinger Roadkill so I used that. I had almost enough to do the entire trunk, but not quite. The trunk will take just about two boxes when fully finished. I have two more boxes coming in to do the rear seat floor, rear sides and the front door skins. Hopefully that will deaden the car up pretty good and maybe get rid of a couple of rattles at the same time.

The silver stuff is a layer of sound deadening material. Once my system is installed the sub will rattle the car to hell. The sound deadening will help to lessen that as well as reduce road noise.

My Alpine equipment arrived today. I was able to score a great deal on this stuff from my rep, so I am using all Alpine stuff in my car. I've always been a big fan of Alpine ever since I first got into the car audio business back in the 80's, so it was only natural to put Alpine parts in the G. This system will be very modest compared to systems that I've had in the past, but I find that at 40 I no longer need to be heard from 3 blocks away. As long as it sounds crystal clear and has decent power I'll be fine. Here are some pics of my headunit and nav install that I did the first weekend I had the car.

I bet you get tired of answering the same questions huh? Hahah read the thread man, he's in car audio. Speaking of which, I'm looking at going double din this summer, any recommendations? I am also a big alpine fan, got my cda 9886 in right now. I'm looking at the iva w505, know anything about it? Its expensive, hope its worth it.

The 505 is a great unit. I was thinking about upgrading my 205 to the 505, but Alpine will be releasing a new line of DD units without a cd player sometime this year. That will lower the price of the unit and since I only listen to XM or my ipod I no longer need a cd player.
