Anyone else think this coupe is pretty hot lookin!!
Wow this has become a serious blowout. The coupe is nice but the front end looks like an s2000. But a v8 putting out as much as a 5 yo. 6 from infiniti is just sad. Still a looker tho especially in black. That's all. If it was infinitis body everyone would be all over it.
True indeed the Gen Coupe is a sweet looking ride but Hyundai do not stand the test of time material wise. after about a year they start to show their true colors, observe them on the road they look like a prom queen gone crack *****, you can see that there was once beauty that has long since left, LOL!

The G37 is well know for the seats bubbling withing the first couple months of ownership, the dash lifting and door pulls being completely scratched up. Check the G37 forums if you don't believe me. I have first hand experience with these issues.
Also my 04 G35 had MANY issues. Seats cracking, seat motor breaking, window motors breaking, hood hinges bending, stereo problems, shifter leather wearing away, ect.
I do admit you do have quite a bit of experience with crack ****** though. That is some credibility to your statement.

Why is it that people are haters when they state an opinion that doesn't match yours? I think the Genesis is a fine car, I just don't think it's as nice as a G series.
Let's see, the 3.8 Track has an MSRP of $31,000, the G37 Coupe is $37,000. Hyundai claims a 0-60 of 5.9 seconds, but several reviews I've read haven't been able to duplicate that and instead come in anywhere from 6.2-6.4 seconds.

Edit: I found this. The only reviewers that got that 6sec slower time was Edmunds which obviously do not know how to drive.
V6
Motor Trend:--5.5 0-60, 14.0@101.0 mph 1/4 AUTO
Motor Trend:--5.5 0-60, 14.2@??mph 1/4 MT
Edmunds:-----6.4 0-60, 14.5@97.9 mph 1/4
Automobile:---5.9 0-60, 14.9@98.0 mph 1/4
Car+Driver:---5.7 0-60, no 1/4 yet
Popular Mech:-5.89 0-60, 14.06@99.82 mph 1/4
2.0T
Car+Driver:---7.0 0-60, 15.3@92 mph 1/4
Automobile:---7.0 0-60, 15.4@93 mph 1/4
Motor trend got 0-60 in 5.5 in the 3.8. When the car just came out and was heading to the states it had a problem were if you made aggressive redline shifts it would kill power for 3 seconds, but now they fixed that to .1 sec or something like that and cars are being reflashed at the port. The 3.8 track auto is 31k the manual MSRP is 29,500, but you can have it for 28kish. For the price point and its Hyundai's first performance coupe I dont think they did such a bad job. Its not as bad as you say it is. its .1 of sec slower to 60 then a G37 coupe and for almost 10k cheaper.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. I won't buy a Hyundai until they have a better track record with reliability and long-term value. It would also be nice if they quit copying everyone else's designs and came up with something original. The Genesis Coupe is just a glorified Tiburon morphed to look like a G37 Coupe (and the old Sonata looked eerily similar to a G35 Sedan).
These numbers are wildly inconsistent. How is it that Edmunds ran a half second slower than Automobile 0-60, but somehow managed to run the ¼ mile a half second faster? How is it that Popular Mechanics ran .4 seconds slower 0-60 than Motor Trend, but almost identical times in the ¼ mile? It doesn't sound like any of these guys can drive the car consistently. BTW, congratulations, you've discovered Wikipedia.

Please brush up on your track/drag racing.. I could run a 14.6 in my G and the very next day I can run a 15.2 with the same driving.
Different magazines test at different tracks, different temperatures, different elevations, different humidity.. All of those can show inconsistent numbers.
A V6 Genesis coupe will blow the doors of a G1 V35 Coupe or sedan, hands down. Stop arguing that.
A V6 Genesis coupe will be even with a V36 07-08 G35 sedan, probably lose to a V36.
A I4 2.0 Genesis coupe is slower than a G1 V35 Coupe or Sedan. BUT... Its a turbo motor with a **** ton of potential to kill any G series infiniti.
A V8 Genesis will be even or probably edge out a V36 G35 sedan.
Infiniti has not set a high standard on build quality or reliability what-so-ever. G35's are full of problems. Hyundai has the worlds best warranty. They've got the Hyundai assurance package which infiniti doesn't offer. The Genesis is newer and up to date. G35 is outdated.
G37 coupe or sedan is overall better and faster than any Genesis.
Don't get mad that a HYUNDAI, thats right a Korean POS is better than your prestige seductive rocket you call a G35.

When has a sonata EVER looked like a G35 sedan? When??? So what if a genesis looks like a tiburon, its from the same family.. Does it **** you off and shock you that the G35 and G37 coupes looks pretty similar? Of course not, because you're full of biased opinions.
For the dumbasses that don't like G's but spend all their time on a g forum, oh look the Genesis is not the worlds first issue free car http://genesisforums.org/hyundai-gen...warranty-info/ btw maybe sign up and spend some time there?
OMG you're DUMB!

And I never argued that a G35 would blow the doors off anything, so please don't say I did. I was refuting the claim that for $40K a Genesis would smoke a G37, and that is patently false, even you admit that.
I wasn't comparing the G35 and G37 Coupes, I was comparing the Genesis Coupe and the G37 Coupe. Try and work on your reading comprehension after you've dealt with the anger issues. My point about the Tiburon was that the Tiburon was morphed into the Genesis Coupe, which happens to look very much like the G37 Coupe, i.e. Hyundai can't design anything original, they have to look at their rivals' success stories to get their ideas.
You're obviously very biased AGAINST Infiniti and the G35, which explains your inability to acknowledge that Infiniti is a very reliable make and the G35 is a very reliable model. If you can show us anything other than your personal experience that backs this up, you might have a leg to stand on. OTOH, there are numerous long term analyses that show Infiniti to be among the most reliable makes on the road, and you've shown nothing that refutes that.
And please don't presume to know what I'm feeling, you have absolutely no idea whatsoever. I don't hate Hyundai, and I'm not mad at anyone, and nothing here has pissed me off. I couldn't care less what Hyundai is doing or making. I don't own one and don't plan on owning one. Hyundai makes a pretty decent car, and I've acknowledged that, I just don't think it's as nice as an Infiniti, and Hyundai hasn't proven that their cars are reliable for the long term or that they'll retain their value long term (in fact, it's quite the opposite for both so far). Infiniti has proven both despite your opinion (and lack of evidence) to the contrary.
